And render 90% of my commonly-used extensions incompatible and useless? Nah, I won't install it yet, thank you very much. =P
I'll get it if you buy me a computer from this century to run it on. ;)

I concur -- Firefox is a freaking resource hog. Addons are one thing, but must they be so laggy?

Internet explorer lags more for me.

Firefox 3 is much better than Firefox 2 in regards to its memory usage and such, so if you had problems running FF2 I suggest you give the upgrade a try.

Oh, then I'll take the chicken then.

Here you are... Tastes of humans, sir.
This is much better than the beta, I am amazed at what they did with it. I even can still use Fire-Gestures. A+ for Mozilla.

only 4 of the extensions i have installed are not compatible with ff3...

Unfortunately, it's a matter of software rather than hardware. (I don't even know who would bother running the required software on the minimum hardware.) No support for Windows 98SE means that there's little chance of me using Firefox 3 in the near future.
Operating Systems
* Windows 2000
* Windows XP
* Windows Server 2003
* Windows Vista

Minimum Hardware
* Pentium 233 MHz (Recommended: Pentium 500MHz or greater)
* 64 MB RAM (Recommended: 128 MB RAM or greater)
* 52 MB hard drive space

I only had 2 compatibility issues when I began using the FF3 betas (followed by the release candidates, which became FF3): GreaseMonkey and FireFTP. I found that there was an FF3-compatible version of GreaseMonkey, just not on the Mozilla add-ons page (had to go to the developer's page). Since the official FF3 release, I've found that they've added a compatible FireFTP version to the add-ons.

No complaints from me, my add-ons all work fine:
- Greasemonkey
- Adblock Plus
- FireFTP
- Web Developer

Why would you even have Windows 98SE?

Because that's all his hardware will run...

That's sad.

While that may be true, they're your extensions, and these or Atomic1fire's aren't necessarily mine as well. I take it you don't really have a lot, either (4? It's hard for me to settle for so little). But note that an inability to use 4 extensions if they were some of the more important ones would be enough to delay updating anyway. And there's of course also the point of waiting a little before updating <s>because I'm lazy</s> to give them some time to fix issues that will be brought up before suffering them myself.

Not really. What's sad is that Microsoft isn't focusing on making their operating systems more efficient and less resource hogs than the previous ones, or at least not more so, not to mention that they haven't rewritten their OS in tens of years, and it needs it. Windows Vista as an extreme example goes without saying.

You're not missing much -- I don't see too many improvements. It doesn't seem to be any less of a resource hog so far, and I've never found a plug-in that is of any use to me, so I didn't have to worry about compatibility.

It is, however, a little prettier. :P

Yeah. I mean, that's one improvement I'm definitely looking forward to. But there are mixed responses on this, some people say "oh yes, finally, Firefox doesn't kill my memory, awesome" but a lot of people also say there was no change, and this was apparently their main intended improvement in Firefox 3 (don't catch my word on this), so apparently their release... uh, failed, as much as I love Firefox. It doesn't seem to love me back though, or my computer for that matter, heh. I remember surfing YouTube and having it already slow down badly from having ~4-5 tabs open.

It is, however, a little prettier. :P

But my prettier themes may be incompatible!</point recycling> =P

Don't get me wrong -- it does seem to load a bit faster, but the actual memory usage of it doesn't seem to have changed.
