The expansion of space has been known since the 1930s, since Edwin Hubble discovered almost all the galaxies we can see are moving away from us. It's also been known since the '90s that this expansion is accelerating, much to the bafflement (is that world?) of physicists, as it really should be slowing down. The resultant concept around this acceleration: dark energy.

Speaking of space, I've heard from my teacher that scientists beleive that space is actually GROWING! Do you people think that's true? (Stay on topic about the lightspeed thing as much as possible while you answer this).
