I want one! :)
Too bad the price tag is almost 2k.

So it's thin.

Why does that matter?
When it comes to ultra-portable PCs, I'm much more excited about the Eee.

I've decided to buy my next laptop from ZaReason. They say "if you can't open it, you don't own it" and encourage you to open your computer and work on it yourself, install whatever OS you want, or install third-party components, without voiding the warranty. In the spirit of openness and hardware freedom, they include a screwdriver in the box your computer comes in. :-)

That is why I would be very reluctant to buy anything from Apple, no matter how neat their gadgets are. You don't really own your computer; more accurately, you lease a Mac and get permission from Apple to use it, under the conditions they set out. They're decked out in DRM worse than Windows is these days, especially now that they have to play ball with the MPAA as well as the RIAA.

Wow, that's pretty awesome!

ZaReason is pretty cool and everything, but their prices aren't great. I guess it's a trade off you have to make sometimes. I guess full OS freedom is priceless.
