Space games

I was wondering if anyone knew of some good space type games.

I have:

Nexus - Would love to find another game in this style.
EV Nova - fun little game.
Starwars empire at war - Its half space half land RTS.
Genesis Rising The Universal Crusade - haven't played much.

I am really looking for a game style like Nexus's it is perfect the graphics are great the size of the ships is at least realistic to and extent.

Would you accept Side Scrolling shooters and First Person space shooters like Starfox? Otherwise I don't know what you mean by "Space Game".

DarkSpace is multiplayer space game, but it's not good graphics

Homeworld.

Homeworld 2 was good, also, but Homeworld was awesome. That music still haunts me.

I'm also a big fan of games of this type, there's just something about commanding a massive space cruiser into battle against a fleet. My system (and budget) don't really let me get any of the really cool ones but I've found a few.

3000ad has Battlecruiser and Battlecruiser Millennium avaliable for free on their website. They're a pretty indepth set of games of the type you're asking albeit kind of lacking in the visuals and realistic size department.

I just heard of Nexus in your post and I have so say, that's one sexy looking game. I wish I could afford it and my computer could run it, looks like exactly the kind of game I'd be able to spend hours on.

Darkspace was only really fun with a lot of people on, and the multiple times I have played it over the years it has seemed to be dieing a painstakingly slow death.

Nexus was on special on steam for $9 :) so i got it ill be happy to lend you my steam account if your pc is good enough :).

Thie thing is that your are sort of stuck in the storyline you don't have much freedom like EV NOVA or Freelancer but it is "sexy" :P.

It looks like my system MIGHT be able to handle it, but I'm on dialup (and can only be on at certain times as not to tie the phone line up) so downloading big games is just a burden. No worries though, maybe I'll be able to check it out some day.
