Yes beta versions of 4.0 have leaked. They are not the finished product though.

A "leak" implies that it was completely unintentional to be distributed. Really, no one on the staff minds if 4.0 is downloaded, as long as people are aware that what they're getting will have bugs and will almost certainly have code compatibility issues from release to release. Staff don't want people putting up 4.0 for public dissemination just yet, however. When it's officially released in a little bit, OTOH, you can distribute it all you like as long as the package remains intact. |

I haven't seen any link at all, and I've been searching for the hole Google provided a while ago. |

You can find some games putting a link up on their hub.

It was still unintentionally distributed though. If it wasn't, the staff themselves would have given the link out to more people than the testers they did give it to. I still consider some lucky person finding it in Google a leak. <.<
And I really do hate all the threads that are popping up about it on the eve of it's public beta release. (And I dread the How-To and Code Problem forums ten minutes after it is release. I bet you, it'll be swamped with "I don't like this!" and "How do I do something?") |

I just realized how excited I am to have new features in 4.0!
I wonder how many days it'll take me to read all the documentation... -TKL |

I just realized how excited I am to have new features in 4.0! Less than a couple hours. Actually understanding the documentation, on the other hand, will take a lot of time. I still don't understand half of it, myself, although I haven't been working very intimately with the core 4.0 features just yet. User interfaces don't strike me as fun to make, so I'm holding off on playing around with them beyond some basic tweaks as the need arises (e.g., floating panels for containers in the game, where you can drag-and-drop equipment into or out of). |
