I've yet to see how giving dolphins unnecessary agony is the most efficient and cost effective. Simply killing them with one quick blow would be both painless and time-saving. If the dolphins aren't flailing about, it's easier to deal with them, and you don't have to wait for them to suffocate in agony.
So yeah, you pretty much both look like idiots. You completely refuse any rational arguments. I've yet to see one rational argument from any of you.

I'd like to know how they are supposed to be able to get the Dolphins up on dry land and then chop their heads off in one fell swoop while they are already flailing about from being pulled out of the water. Oh wait I know, they could catch them in the water and chop their heads off underwater right? Or they could fill the water full of drugs and stun the dolphins so that they don't move around as much when they pull them on dry land. Or an even better idea is, they could just use good ol' fashioned explosives. The fact is, no one here can say they know the best way to deal with this crap, because none of us harvest Dolphins, so don't sit there on your high horse thinking you have the best ideas on how to handle the situation. | |

My guess is its simply the only way that doesn't in anyway damage meat they would otherwise use. The're not severing the lungs and letting the thing sit there suffocating, they're severing the carotid artery, and it doesn't take very long for them to bleed out. Theres plenty of other places that use similar methods to kill other kinds of animals? Why aren't people up in arms about that? Is it because Dolphins are "Intelligent and friendly" or because they're "cute"? Hate to break it to you, there are many even worse atrocities happening throughtout the world to things that are more intelligent, more friendly, and "cuter". It was actually a sad event. Heck, most of the people in my town and in my school actually were mature enough to view the incident as appropriate, and not as some childish way to get a laugh. I remember reading about Irwin dying, and since I loved watching his show whenever it was on it turned the rest of the day into a big downer for me. Of course it's bad that he died. Trying to find humor in a lousy situation is just a way some people deal with things. Seeing an MSpaint doodle of a pokemon knocking him off was something completely unexpected to me, and I found the mockery of it gasp-funny. It doesn't mean I thought that the actual process of someone getting speared through the heart while filming a television show for his little daughter to be anything but tragic, though.

You need to understand something, this guy here, he didn't mean anything to me, Alright? People die every single day.
If I cried for every single person I didn't give a damn about, I would have been out of tears a long time ago. There is a quote I enjoy: "Laugh and the world laughs with you, cry and you cry alone." I try to find humor in almost anything and that includes how this man died. It is so funny and ironic that he was killed, by an animal that is known to be so gentle. I mean, I know what you are saying, and I understand it could be considered a tragedy with many people but you need to understand, many other people didn't see it as a tragedy. And you need to understand, for just as many people who loved the man, just as many people disliked him. Hell I didn't even care when the twin towers were smashed to rubble and thousands of people died. Why? Because I don't know them and I DON'T CARE. I need to grow up? Please get off it, the only person who needs to grow up is you. It seems like you think, because some people consider something a sad event, everyone has to be the same way? No, there are way too many people in the world and they are all different. Not everyone has to agree with you and not everyone has to cry about what happened to this man. As for my family thing, I have had family members die, and I know how it feels, that doesn't mean I care about any other person I don't know or relate with. And the fact is, even after awhile, I even made jokes about my own dead family members. People die, its a fact, no reason to have a heart attack over it. I will die some day, and I hope to GOD people will joke about it, at least people will remember me then.  | |
