It has accured to me that a vast majority of popular Xbox games are usually in the Shoot-em-up category.
Am I wrong?
I know there are some good RPGs, Racers, Platformers and many more, but to me games like Gears of War and Halo 1, 2, 3(Not yet released) seem to be very popular games for the Xbox or Xbox 360 and they all have one thing in common, they are all shoot-em-ups.
Once again I say am I wrong?

i'm pretty sure most of the popular games are in the POS category, but thats just my opinion.

I believe that Shooter Games are more popular because
1. They tend to be fast-paced 2. Tend to be simple enough for most people to play. RPGs are generically slow-paced and involve a bit of number crunching when you're building up characters. In RTSs, Micromanagement, Multitasking, and Strategies/Tactics can be overwhelming. Puzzle games don't appeal to as large of an audience as the other genres listen above because not everybody likes to sit down and use their brainpower to solve puzzle after puzzle. There's also empire-building games like SimCity and Civilization and simulation games like The Sims and Monster Rancher, but you get the idea. >_> | |
Yeah they seem to have a pretty strong library of shooters, even if most of them aren't exclusive. I'm actually pretty shocked Microsoft didn't think up something like the Wiimote a long time ago (i.e, a controller that can be used as a floating mouse). The XBox is full of games that would really benefit from some sort of mouse over instead of an analog stick.
