Thankyou. FIRST POST

Well, the price points are a letdown. They will release the system for $250(I was hoping for $200, but $250 isn't too bad) but it will only come with one Wiimote and Nunchuck. It will cost another $40 for the Wiimote and $20 for the Nunchuck.

Yeah the controlelr cost and the fact its only in white so far are my only nitpicking..Still, I'm pretty hyped...Hopefully, every game wont be "complex" cuz I wanted to buy another set for a buddy to play... |

I read somewhere, you buy a $20 gift card to get the points...So the classic games are $5-$10 in wii points..0_0 about..100 points per $1.

Sounds pretty good, I'm just happy I can play GCN games on it -- mine got stolen and I've had four or five games I haven't been able to play (for two or so years).

I posted the NY Times article some time yesterday, but deleted it thinking it couldn't be right. But, I had every reason to, who in their right mind would think that Japan is getting the Wii after America!
I'm hanging out for the Australian details. |

I don't want to incriminate myself on a public forum. =p
What I can say is they have emulators for everything from NES to N64 that are very stable. They have ones for the Playstation and arcade machines. They also have [buggy] PS2 and GC emulators. =D |

really. i've never seen PS2 or GC.
**Ontopic** Australia gets the Wii on Dec 7th, for $399.95. Europe gets it Dec 8th, for some price thats reasonable. |

$399.95!?!???? Nintendo of Australia, WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU THINKING?
Converting the US price to Aussie dollars gives a result between $300 and $350. Where the hell does the extra fifty dollars come from? That's it, this is proof: Nintendo of Australia has been secretly subverted by Microsoft in order to sabotage all Nintendo releases in Australia by exchange-rate stooging us all. (Incidentally, where did you get that info from?) |

What's in the box for $399.95? • Wii console - white • 1x Wii Remote • Nunchuk attachment • Console stand • Sensor bar and stand • AV composite/component cable • AC adaptor • 2x AA batteries + bonus Wii Sports game. (Incidentally, where did you get that info from?) Nintendo.com.au While we are at it, Europe gets it for €249 or £179. **EDIT** Channel Prime/Seven are meant to have a report on the Wii in the 6:00PM News tonight, so keep an eye out for it. |

Why should we have to pay more for the Wii then the US (Taking into account exchange rates)? It doesn't make any sense.
With those figures provided, ($250 USD, $400 AUD), Nintendo of Australia is working on a 62.5 US cents to an Aussie dollar exchange rate. The current exchange rate is 75 US cents to an Aussie dollar, according to this website. So the question is why Nintendo of Australia feels they should make every Australian Nintendo product more expensive. We already get less games then the rest of the world, don't make them expensive, too! And THEN we have to deal with region-locked stuff. Sometimes I hate living in Australia. <_< |

I went to my local Game retailer and saw the 360 on display. It is doing pretty hot. I go there mostly everyday since i pass that way from college. I think the Wii will look just as good on display as 360. And i think nintendo is going to boom this time (and all the rest of the times).
O and one more thing, Me, my friend, my other friend, my college teacher and my sisters mates older brother both have a PS2 and GC. But prefer nintendo and play it more. *Started a nuclear forum war* (Maybe, Maybe not...SONY S***) |

Region locking sucks, and I hate whoever came up with the idea for it. My systems all came from the US, so if I ever want to buy any games I'd have to import from overseas instead of simply walking down two or three streets to a nearby store. The different electrical socket shape is annoying enough. :(
