I've been trying to become a BYOND member for a bit, and just recently made action. I think i signed up for paypal, because it has that page about my account and stuff with my balance and other things. I'm using my mom's debit card for paypal, but i don't think its working because i haven't "added a credit or debit card to my account" yet, but is it possible with JUST a debit card? I've been consulting my friend Ephraim on this subject, and he hasn't really helped (but he tried), and i was just wondering if anyone out there had the same problem as me? I'm not sure this is the right place for this post, but it seemed the most proper. Thanks :D.
It should work fine with a debit card alone, it's helpful to have a savings or checking account as well.

Thanks man, the only problem i'm having is the "Add Credit or Debit Card" page. It asks for the Credit Card type, number, expiration date and verification number. The only one that i can fill in is Credit Card number... I can't get past this one page, and that was the problem i meant to state above. If anyone can think of a solution, thanks.

Well, you'll need to fill in the required fields, debit cards work just like credit cards.. fill in all the info. The card type can be determined by the logo. If your logo is not listed on paypal, your debit card is no good on paypal.

Or are you saying the page wont allow you to type that in? If that's the case, try using a different browser to see if that fixes it.

Thanks man, i don't really knwo what card it is... my mom says its debit, but it has almost no information on it. I'll just guilt her to getting a credit card.

There should be a VISA or Mastercard or American Express logo on it, or similar... if not, then it's just a keycard and not a "debit card". I'm using "debit card" in the sense of "can be used in place of a credit card".

My debit card has a VISA logo on it, and it works everywhere that a VISA credit card does.

instead of trying to make her feel guilty (which is cheap and low in my opinion, but if you have so little regard for your parents that's not my problem) -- it would be far easier and faster (and cheaper since crdeit-cards can be expensive in the long run) is to just ask the bank for money order in U.S. dollars. give them the cash and they give you a money order that you send to Dantom via your local Post/Mail service.

it could be weeks before you see a credit card, and by that time you would likely have the membership already with the above suggested method.

Unless you're in Canada, where "debit card" doesn't mean credit card.

It doesn't mean "credit card" in Australia either... it means a card that's linked to your bank account and can be used in place of a credit card, but doesn't allow you to borrow any money.

So basically it's a credit card that doesn't allow you to spend more money than you have. Which is good. =)

In Canada, you can use your regular bank card(which doesn't have a credit card logo) to pay for purchases. It's a system called Interac. I think pretty much all canadian bank cards are debit cards.

So would it still soemhow be possible to use it with paypal?

doubtful. It would be painfully obvious if you were able to. They make it so it's easy to enter this stuff ;)

You'll just have to do the old fashioned check/money order
