Has anyone on BYOND ever won the lottery? Not just a few dollars, but the JACKPOT.
Why would they post it? People'd just try and sap off them.
Besides, I'd rather enter into Premium Bonds or something. That way, you can get your money back.

I only posted the bacuase **someone** on my MSN, a BYONDer said he won 25million dollars.

If a BYONDer won 25 million. He/she wouldn't be on BYOND anymore. :o

If I won 25 million smackers. I'd still play BYOND. I'd probably also visit quite a few of the BYONDers I know.

If I won 25 million, BYOND would have a private sponsor.

If i won 25 million, i would buy BYOND.
edit: Then probably sell it to Bill Gates for double the price i brought it for.

Dragonfire, Ephraim was just kidding. You should know better:P

Still, this post can be turned into what you would do with 25 million dollars.[EDIT] how'd you know it was Ephraim?!
In response to Dragon_fire6653
Haha yeah, i didn't think about that... sorry

I'm Ephraim's go-to guy, so he tells me everything he's done and i laugh. Then he said "i told some guy that i won the lottery XDXDXDXDXDXDXDXDXDXDXDXD"(no exaggeration). Then i put 2 and 2 together. :)

i think its bold of him, bill gates isn't to be messed with
Most programmers (which make up a nice chunk of the BYOND population, and perhaps the majority of those who post on these forums) are good with math...

People who are good with math tend to avoid the lottery...lol

Really? i don't see why they'd avoid it... What if a really smart-in-math guy figured a way to beat the lottery? I'm not sure how... But if he could he'd be raking in the $$$ :)
In response to Oblivon_2
The only way to beat the lottery is to buy a HUGE number of tickets... And I mean HUGE...

There is simply no other way... No mathematician, regardless of how intelligent he is with his craft, can ever devise another strategy... The game is entirely random, and the only factor one can control (and even then, only just barely) is probability... And the only way to improve your probability of winning is to buy more tickets... Plain and simple...

Read this:

http://www.lottery-syndicate-world.com/ chances-of-winning-the-lottery.html

So, you see, for anyone who knows enough about math, the lottery is instantly seen as a waste of money (also known as the "Stupid Tax")

So huge that you have to wait for one of those mega massive jackpots to come along. A regular jackpot wont cover the costs involved (because of the ammount of tickets you have to get and the short time you have to do it there are a lot of other things to spend money on).

I remember watching a documentury on a group of people who did it. They couldn't print the tickets fast enough so at the time of the draw there was still a chance they wouldn't win. Although at the end of the day that was actually good for them. They brought less tickets and still won.
In response to DarkView
It was actually a company. They paid their workers to go out and buy all the tickets they could (all given a list of different combinations) and provided the money to pay for it. The jackpot was 160milion or something.. Or was it 360... or 600 even, i can't really remember. And yea they didnt manage to get them all, AND There was the risk that they would have to share the prize money with someone else.

You don't have to be good at math! Just good at common sense :P The lottory sucks because the odds are low, and you have to spend money.

Haha thats very true, but ya gotta live a little!
In response to Oblivon_2
Psh, living a little? I'd rather go skydiving for $00 than buy $400 worh of lottery tickets. :P
