Only $6 (thanks Steven!) of the $60 needed has been received so far, so I am expecting a note from the server company any moment saying 'sorry, you are over 2 months late, we have to shut down your server until you pay up the $60'.

I have made a full backup of all accounts, including databases, but those of you who have running accounts are encouraged to make backups yourself incase something happens to my copy.

when i can bring digitalBYOND hosting back up, i'll restore the accounts *and* give everyone a free month or two of hosting for their troubles (i don't expect to be offline for more than a month or two).

future hosting with digitalBYOND will likely require a more binding contract and possibly include a 3-6 month advance payment scheme, so that i feel confident that people can actually pay during the life of the account. i have not decided exactly what to do or how to do it, but i wil try to come up with a service that is fair to everyone, and sustainable.

thanks to all who did use the service and were conscientious in paying on time. you proved that such a service is possible and self-sustaining with no starting capital. i learned a lot about running such a service, both technically and financially, so the next time should go a lot smoother and be more successful.
