Well, I have come to realize that there's two new anime-related games that have just came out in America. Naruto Ultimate Ninja and Samurai Champloo Sidetracked. =| Both of them fail to seek my interest completely. I'd underline it if I could.
Naruto: Ultimate Ninja is a half-way decent game. That is if you love continuing to use overpowering moves that will screw you over a fighting match even if you've been owning your opponent THE WHOLE GAME. Never-the-less, it can be addicting. Though, the controls are difficult and the delays on the characters are horrific. Just wait till I talk about Samurai Champloo. It does have missions. First practice, D, C, B, A, then S ranked missions. You must move up the ladder to be able to do any.
Example: Beat all practice and become a Genin to do the Level D Missions.
Overall I give it a C. It's kind of addictive if you enjoy doing the same moves over and over again. Kind of fun when there's two players. I'd rather play NBA LIVE 06(which is totally awesome). But, it's personal opinion. I recommend buying it when it is fifteen-twenty dollars. Not at the price it is now.
The Samurai Champloo game does have a little bit of strategy to it. You must have your combos timed right, but you seem to end up doing the same thing every time. You have no special weapons. Nothing. Just swing...swing....swing. It gets kind of old after awhile. Makes the game boring.
Some bosses are challenging, but they aren't so really challenging. When you figure out how to beat them, you can beat them easily. The enemy wont have but two or three attacks, which makes it even more predictable and boring. What also adds to the boringness is the overwhelming defense of the bosses. It makes you swing more, which is never-the-less BORING.
Jin is hard to use. If you do get this game, get it when it's twenty dollars. When you do, only use Mugen. He's that cut loose kind of guy we all like. Jin has a delay on him like Proelium has a delay on Knights. Trust me. It's aweful.
I did find the music very nice, though. It went with all of the action...BORING action. It made it a bit more exhilerating, though. Their movie art in it isn't so good either. In the beginning, all three Mugen, Jin, and Fuu are surrounded by white. It makes absolutely no sense. Sure, it's snowing. When it snows, the whole sky isn't white. Evidently the CG artists didn't have enough brainpower left after putting the overwhelming delay on Jins attacks.
Overall D.
The two NEWEST games I advise you to get are NBA LIVE 06 and Midnight Club 3 DUB Edition Remix. I was never really much into basketball myself, but they did a great job with the game. It isn't no easy scoring. It takes practice. Even I have gotten good at it. (Who likes Phoenix Suns?) MC3DUBedition Remix deserves a A, along with NBA LIVE 06. Both give you a great perspective on how the game is. They're both exhilerating games. You don't know whose going to win. Especially in MC3. I would buy both for any price in the book.
Anyway, to the point. I love using Amare Stoudemire in the paint. -Cough.- I mean the Anime Based Games need WORK. And get Bandai off of them. They're failing...miserably with them. Nothing against Bandai, just a personal opinion I suppose. =D I appreciate it if you took the time to read this long STORY. =)
