Yesterday my computer's internet download speed slowed to a crawl i have dial-up and i know its slow but it has happened before and i still dont know what the problem is or was...heres the story.
2 years ago i was getting online usually at the speed of 32 kbps connecting at 28 was something that made me extremely mad then 1 year ago i wasnt able to connect at the 30+ kbps only connecting at 24-28 then a few months ago it droped to 16-19 and now since yesterday its at 12-16 kbps.I have been using the same comp and along the way i have system restored many times cause i have been having weird problems that could not fix in any way.Could this be an old modem dieng out?The phone lines failing?Something with my BIOS or computer in itself? Oh and my bro brought his comp for a few weeks once long ago and his computer connected a bit faster and worked much better, hardware wise his comp is 3 times better than mine, could that be the problem? And now i just d/l Byond 3.5 Beta 5 at 0.5 kbps, took me almost an hour.The d/l speed droped by 3 whole kbps(Huge Drop) in the 3 years,Before it was 3.3+ then 2.7+ then 1.9 and now 0.5-1.3kbps.
Please need help really really bad, i cant even d/l Naruto Fantasy which was my fav game, it loads up to 2 MBs then my connection dies for no reason and it only happens when i try d/l that(i d/l Byond 3.5 B5 just fine). Help!...-_-

Probably the phone lines. My suggestion: Get a better ISP. I realize that not everyone can get DSL or Cable, but if you can, do it. It is well worth the price difference.

It could be your dial-up modem might be dieing or something. Like the post above mine i would get the upgrade its extreamly worth it once you get a taste of boardband you will never want to go back.

Get the phone company to come and check your phone lines.
And yeah, if you can get off dial-up then do so. It's well worth it. | |
