I think, in this case, because it is a fangame, adding benifits to byond memebers is a bad idea. Although you are not profiting, Dantom is potentialy, making it a legal muck for them, just the same as if you would make people pay for benifits just for your game.

See, this is yet another reason to stay away from fangames and do your own thing. If you did a FF style RPG, this wouldn't even be an issue. You could do what you want!
BTW Good to see you Flame Sage, I was wondering just the other day where you had disappeared to. |

If you can't afford the extremely low amount of money that becoming a BYOND member costs, I really pity you. it seems like the problem usually isn't the price itself, but people not having a way to get the money to Dantom. |

I have yet to witness a game that gives the BYOND members an actual advantage to the gameplay, that'd be silly and would most likely ruin the game for both parties. The Zeta games have started giving "powerboosts" to BYOND Members. Unfair advantage ftw! |

That shouldn't be a problem, we accept checks, money orders, BYONDimes, and PayPal (which also enables the use of credit cards, I believe). Any person can get a money order.

Last Robot Standing makes good use of Memberships - when a Member happens to be playing, everyone benefits with cool extra modules/features.

Money orders are hard to get when you're thirteen? Last I checked you just walked into a Post Office and asked for one, paid the people and that was it. Your second statement contradicted the first so I'm not even going to respond to it. |

Like with money order, he could do that but let's say he has to get a ride to the post office and his parents are wondering why he's giving money to some person for some website. I'm not saying that I agree with that example because I think those parents are screwy. The kid can spend his money on whatever he wants within the law. |

The kid can spend his money on whatever he wants within the law. most parents didn't have the internet when they were growing up, so its reasonable for them to be suspicious when their kid wants to send $15 to some guy from the internet. its obviously not making the situation impossible, but it does make getting some in-game bonus more of an ordeal than it should be. |

Yeah, it's the kind of bonus the whole family can enjoy. Many more games should implement this kind of feature... I know I am with my game (in development :p).

Exactly, I bet if you just saved a little change evertime you spent some money, sooner or later you would get $15. I bet if you had a BYOND membership right now you wouldn't be complaining.. Yes i would i don't play byond games very often but that doesn't make a difference and i would have to save more than $15 because 1: i live in Australia 2: no paypal account because theres no way to get money into it So you tell me what you would do if you were in my shoes? |

If you really liked BYOND, you would buy a plane ticket and hand deliver it.
Of course I kid. Even though you want to buy a membership and can't doesn't mean you should get perks over the people who just don't want one. Either way, the point is the same, you have not given Dantom your $15(USD). You could write and article for BYONDScape, seems like a good article there will get you somewhere in that area. You could also ask others who you know are capible of providing you with a membership. I know I, and many others, have donated at least one membership, and plan to donate more in the future. |

I'd save the money, walk to the Post Office, ask for an International Money Order in USD and send it.
