I have a D-link router, and I really don't like it because I am not able to host with it due to the firewall, please can someone walk me through how to open ports on my computer so that I can host through them?

I got a question for a D-Link router, I did the portforwarding thing but it never worked! Is there anything that could prevent me from hosting even after I followed the steps on portforward? Im absolutely sure I did everything right.

You might have a firewall that's blocking the connection. Or perhaps you have another router or DSL modem between you and the internet, in which case you'll need to configure that one for port forwarding as well.

Ive got a dlink router to, and it wont work when I try and host a game. I found that when I disable nat it will work.

i've used dlink DSL modem/routers for years with no trouble in hosting BYOND games. it's just a simple matter of RTFM, and paying attention to what you are doing. it is *not* rocket science.
i believe the folks at portforward (link given earlier in this thread) also have a page on hosting BYOND games with all sorts of routers. |
