Uh, wow. So, let me get this straight, you are saying that the XBox 360 does graphics better than a PC?
skillz... I'd have to say that that is the dumbest thing I've ever heard anyone say. No offense, but you really don't quite understand what you are talking about. See, those are TWO DIFFERENT GAMES. The XBox360 is yes, comparable in graphics to a modern, up to date computer, but when you get right down to it, you will never be able to beat the PC for graphics. My computer alone is better than an XBox360 for one simple reason, it's upgradable. I have more hard drive space, and it's three times as fast, and I have four times the graphics capability. I also have a higher resolution, and four times the RAM. You may try to argue that the PC was much more expensive than the XBox360, and you are right. My PC only cost me $500 to build. I built it for $500, and I have a 3.2ghz intel pentium 4 processor, 2gb DDR2 RAM, a 512mb video card, and on top of it all, I have my processor overclocked to almost 3.6ghz. So, let's look at it logically. I payed double the price of a console that will never be upgradable, and will be outdated again in about five to six years. My computer will be able to run the latest technology for another approximated seven or eight years, unless there is a sudden burst of brand new software requirements. Basically, the PC cannot be owned by any console. |

No, that's not what I meant at all. I was pointing out how the older game version on PC looked good, but the 360 looked better then that. The PC one alone looked better then Xbox or Ps2, and the 360 blew it away. Of course the PC can have even better graphics then that, but he was asking is it really a next gen console. And really, if it's better the last one, it's good, but compared to a not-so-old PC game, the graphics are pretty sweer. :)

That's not really a very good point, though. Of course the graphics are going to improve with time. Look at Pariah, and Halo 2, they were XBox titles, and had some good graphics (In pariah's case, bad gameplay), and the same goes for Morrowind. It's all based on the effort the company puts into the graphics. The XBox could have run a LOT better looking games, but the market didn't put that much focus on it.
The point here is, that it doesn't really matter about the console itself. It's the games that come out for the console that make it enjoyable! When you get right down to it, all these console flamewars miss that point. Screw consoles, I'm not going to buy one, or try to convince anyone that any one console is better than the other, except that the PC, on which about 90% of the XBox 360 titles will be coming out on, seems to be a better, common sense buy. If you don't have the resources to buy a compy, well then, that's your thing. I'd suggest doing whatever you want. Now, me personally, if I were going to buy a console, I wouldn't buy a 360. I'd shoot for the PS3, why? Because frankly, I know I can play the games that are coming out on the XBox360 without buying it, because I have a PC. As for the PS3, I know that even though a lot of games that come out for Sony consoles come out on the PC, there are a lot that don't come on PC. And... I've sort of grown past the Nintendo franchise. As for that, though, I wouldn't buy a console period. I find it a waste of time, as PC games are generally what knock my socks off. And note that I said my. I could care less what anybody else buys. Let them buy what they buy, frankly, these trash threads just keep causing trouble. If you want to play Gun, or Quake, or Oblivion on the 360, go ahead! As for me, I'll be playing them on the PC. When you get right down to it, it's all what you like, and arguing about it isn't going to make one tiny bit of difference, but waste your time and mine. Take it easy y'all. ;P |

Some of those game and watch can be really big. Also they are fairly old now (unless nintendo started making new ones) and some of them can be pretty rare.
I tried to get one of those dual screen Legend of Zelda ones and people were paying like $50.00 for the things. When I was a kid, I had a Super Mario Brothers game N watch wrist watch. Which told the time AND let me play mario. Aweomse. Anyways, the PS3 should be pretty impressive, but it not exciting me as much as the Nintendo Revolution. Depending on price tages and release dates, I will see which one I buy first. Out of curisoty, I went out to walmart the other day and while browsing games, I checked to see if they still didn't have any Xbox 360 stuff. Nope, they got tons of accessories and games, but no systems. I don't know how exactly you can sell a video game console that is non-existant in stores. Lots of web stores have them now, charging up to $700.00 for them, and these are non-modded. Freaking ridiciouls. I liked Nintendo because I have never, EVER had a probolem getting a system, even on launch day, without a pre-order. Sony is good with faking system shortages, they did it with almost all their releses, and now I guess Xbox is going to do the same thing. Really I think it is for game fans in general, a way for them to hold over until the REAL consoles come out, and by that I mean PS2 and Nintendo R. |
