I've been knifing on Counterstrike Source for quite some time and recording demo's of me knifing 4-6 people on average per round... I was wondering if there is a program that will record the demo's I've made so that I can post them on youtube and maybe eventually start a website... Some say I'm the best knifer, and such, and I'd like to try to claim this title by notoriety.

What programs do you use and such to record videos?
I'm not sure what you mean... are you saying that you've already recorded the videos with a screen capture program and you're just looking to compress them, or did you record your screen with an actual video camera and want to capture the footage off of the camera?

Windows Movie Maker would be the tool to use in either case. The program can capture the footage from a camcorder over firewire or usb, and then can also be used to compress it. I'm pretty sure that you can submit the .wmv format to youtube.com.

If I totally missed the point of your post and you're looking for a screen capture program to record the videos in the first place, then I'm not quite sure what the best Windows software is for that.

Half-life 2 has a recorder ability already, the problem with it is it only works in half-life 2. So, I was thinking of playing that demo and recording what happens on the screen. Make sense?

Fraps is the best bet. A little checking around and you can find a nice way past that whole demo thing. If not and you grow tired of the 30 second recording limit, try Gamecam. It has no limit, but it leaves a watermark and crap resolution recording.

To use gamecam, you need to have it run steam and then add a -applaunch ### for w/e the number is to launch it.

well I've been using fraps and these are the 4 video's I've done so far:

I didn't post any of my really good ones yet, they require longer filming times... I will try to get game cam to work later tonight.

Thanks for the help guys :)

I might have missed it, but do the servers you play on have footsteps? Either way, nice knifing. [edit] Ah, I heard it on the third video[/edit]

If you have msn or xfire you can talk to me about registered fraps.

lol nah I just watch people play and then I'll hide somewhere I notice they don't check.

I play on Mystery Meat server, which is 32 players ( there were 16 enemies).

This one was REALLY funny at the time... it was a VIP map on that 32 player server, and hardly anyone had died then bam I knife the VIP and win the round lol...

lol haven't seen nothing yet if you think that is ownage... haha :)

Someone's gonna hook me up with a fraps retail version soon.... muahahaha. Then you can see how I play and get in these situations (although I might cut some out, like special moves I do that I don't want people copying) but it's fun as hell making these movies :)

Why? They'll figure them out eventually anyway, and this way you get credit for inventing them. =)

It's not the end of the world if people start copying your tactics... actually I'd take it as a compliment.

Just gimme a ring on xfire or msn (Posted below (all I have sorry)). I would host it and post a link, but I don't want something like that on the forums. Bad for me, bad for BYOND.
