I just got this new computer yesterday, and I have all this spyware on it 144,898 traces to be exact. I have a couple low risk things like things that redirect your internet, then trojans that download viruses, and then some weird thing:

What the hell is this, and how did all this stuff get on my computer that just got hooked up today?
Maybe you don't have a firewall/antivirus thing, since you said you just installed it.

Yeah, I have that it came installed with the computer.
What is that pogram you are using?

I'm using Norton, and Weboot I can't even deleted this stuff, because when I try it says Weboot Spy Sweeper has caused an error, and must now close. There's traces of this stuff in every file of my computer. I'm thinking this is Best Buy’s fault they installed this stuff.

[Edit]
I just ran another sweep, and now I have even more stuff. Mostly all system monitors, people are watching me. =O
Maybe it's a Japanese virus or something and Windows doesn't have the characters installed to display its name and info :P

I have no idea though.

I heard that alot of cheap software virus scanners and spyware scanners actully detect stuff that is naturally installed in normal products.

Like Norton is pretty cheap, its one of the cheapest, expensive software suits. AVG is free and does a better job then Norton.

I used to use Norton, and it would always detect files that were installed from a CD and would say they were viruses.

I suggest getting new protection first.

Its IMPOSSIBLE to get that stuff from the factory. Unless of course you got DSL or Broadband and connected without your software installed first.

Actualy, factory ones sometimes does contain viruses. I thought I got a virus when I disabled my firewall then plugged in my modem. I wasnt connecting, and I was sure it was my internet connection... But then I noticed, very stupidly, that my internet wire wasnt plugged into the phone line so it couldnt have been that. I didnt install anything, so theres no way anything I did recieved the virus.

I had Best Buy install the virus, and spyware protection along with all the Windows updates. So, I think they are at fault, because a friend of mine also got a new computer, and had Best Buy install his system updates, and his computer was riddled with viruses.
