Well, I would like to publicly state on how releasing the source of FFL was a very idiotic move. I respect you as a person, and BYOND Member, but this was a bad move. Everyone complains about ZETA rips, and well....Here we go again, exept with Final Fantasy..

Thanks...
I really don't see why someone would care that much. Nadrew can do whatever he wants, if it's his game. I have no problem with DBZ rips, for the most part. I hardly ever have to deal with them. More often than not, hearing about them is more annoying.

I know, but if you think about it, it could just hurt the hub in the long run. I like Nadrew, but I have to say, that is a dumb thing. Even if it was released in the sense that people might learn off of it, most people will just change the name and call it a new game.
Where have you been? It's been released for like four months now.

Right here. The truth: I didn't notice, my PC has been broke.

And I'd like to publically state that you're wrong and making yourself look like a jerk. Look, crappy knock-offs do not just magically arise from open source code; people have to make those crappy knock-offs, right? Now, what do you think those same people would do if the source code was not available? They'd still be making crappy games, except they'd be making them from scratch. So instead of crappy knock-offs of a full-featured game, there'd just be more crappy unplayable newbie projects in their place.

I am not even in the least bit trying to downplay Nadrew or anything, I said I respected him, and I understand the reasons he could have used for releasing it. I was just stateing my mind.

This isn't 100% true...most of these crappy original games don't even make the hub. But by taking a source code, they can throw a playable game on the hub and call it their own...so I really do think that if full sources weren't available, not as many crappy games would be around.

Final Fantasy Legacy was one of my most favorite games for awhile, I think I might just get a host for the game and thats it.

Still, itd be nice if I could find someone to continue the game, the source is too complciated for me, and I can admit that. =P
Open source is never a bad thing. I downloaded a 3D library/physics engine the other day, and I've been working on a 3D online RPG/first person shooter for a few days. It's REALLY cool.

Open source is only what you make of it. I'd take issue with those that are MISUSING it, rather than the person that created his project open source.

Alright, you've been here for the past four months. Why would a "broken" PC prevent you from noticing Nadrew's hub? Sure, you may not have noticed, but the broken thing doesn't make sense.

Are you retarted? Illiterate? I stated "I didn't notice" There, the end of the statement! No more. Bye.

If anyone makes a rip on that source, they deserve it, because I know I can't understand a lot of it. Also, it's a TON better than the zeta source, so at least people will be learning from something better than that.

No, I'm not illiterate, and no, I am not mentally handicapped. Check my message again...and I'm done.
