Hey,
Well here is a post by me made about every blue moon. I was just curious, for those that are american citizens and are over 18. Anyone buy a powerball ticket for the 340 million prize? I know the odds are like 1 in 146 million to win, but people still buy tickets when the pot is big when they usually don't. I've never played before but I might just buy a ticket. Just wondering if anyone else is a lottery player, or isn't and will just buy a ticket.

I'll buy one every once and a while just for the hell of it, but I'll always get one when the Powerball is pretty high. Can't win if you don't buy one, right? Yeah the odds are astronomical but the it's not like the tickets are expensive.

Yeah, and what are the odds of winning if you don't even buy one? =P

It's at times like these that I'm reminded of the works of the English comic poetry genius, Les Barker.
(It's much funnier in full, but I couldn't find the whole thing on the internet, for obvious reasons; it's still in copyright. In fact, all of this is from memory, so it's probably wrong. =) If you ever get a chance to read (or, better yet, hear) his works, do so, they're hilarious.) I didn't win the lottery today. I didn't have a go. I thought: "Shall I subsidise the National Lottery?" And then I thought: "No." ... Now my chances of winning are nil; As opposed to... roughly the same. --Les Barker, "An Admission" |
