So, I recently got a TI-84+ Silver Edition, and I can figure out how to get games on it, but whenever I attempt to run them I get either one of these errors:
ERR:VARIABLE (or something)
ERR:SYNTAX
=(=(
Also, sometimes when I'm transfering games to it, I get this error:USB communication error: The operating system on the devide does not support the version of variable being sent (8C080030)
Anyway to fix this?

This may or may not be your problem: Well, this is with my TI-83+ calc, but I have this OS thingy on it for games. I think it's called ION. Some games are made for different things, so an ION game might only work if you use the ION program to load it.

Now I just need to get some good games for it. =o So far I have 14 games which I like (13 of them barely take up any memory, the fourth one (Wolfenstein) takes up a bit, but not much). | |
Yeah, hes right, each game requires their own, like game OS to run, except the really crappy ones. I had a TI-82 and I got a universal game loader, with Mario Brothers and Lotus Racing, which are two really good, good looking games for the Ti-82.
There is a TI Calc game database, I forget where, online, which not only features a collected archive, of all the best games, for all of the TI family, but screen shots, and any and all OSes youll need. You should really look for this Zelda game that a kid was developing, it was Bascilly Zelda DX from the GBC system. Except for the greyscale colors, it looked just like and played just like the game, except when I had it, it only let you explore town, but that was 3 years ago.... Not to mention some handy cheating devices for in school. I cant tell you how awesome having the elemnetal table on my TI was in science class during thoses tests... | |
Heh, I got a remake of Mario 3, and a great Megaman game. Also some misc games such as Rummy, Sim City, and stuff.

The only difference between the TI-84+ and the TI-83+ is that it's faster, and has more Archive space. There is basically no difference between the two Silver Editions except the changable face plates for the 84+SE, and different case design. Same specs.

Desolate. You can find it at http://ticalc.org in the TI-83 (NOT PLUS) section. It's a grayscale, and it takes more than 27k of Archive/RAM space. Use MirageOS

We get our calculators randomly checked during tests. =P My graphics calculator is the school-standard one (Sharp EL-9900). They deliberately picked it so that it was too crap to play games. =( | |
