I will like to thank Byond alot. Right when I first came to Byond Back in November 04, I was very newbie, I got in alot of fights, like with Elation, Jikuha, and, Artekia from my newbish behavior, typing, and STA spams. Which I will like to say I am sorry for doing it. But the point of this post is I will like to thank MOST of the Byond community for changing me, not only changing me in Byond but in real life. I am more mature and I type and read much better. Also I learned alot of new words. This will mostly be helping me out In High School this year. So I will like to thank MOST of you here. Thank You.

Welcome. :)
|
I think I speak for the whole community when I say, you are welcome. I have noticed that you have dropped most "newb" habbits. Just enjoy BYOND. I feel that the most important thing that BYOND has gave me is something to do. Someplace to sit and chill after a hard days work.
|
Although I think a lot of it just comes natural, I think because of people like Garthor, I am much better with grammar and spelling than I was back when I joined BYOND, and I'm one of the best english students in my school (though, still not perfect, of course).
It never hurts to look professional :) |
He was just general a troll. He was warned lots of times, and ignored them. I don't even know if he is still banned.
|
As far as I know his ban is permament( =*( ). So I doubt he'll be coming back any time soon( =*( ).
He may be mean, but he is a very smart person, and I'll always think of him as a guru. =) |
Well, he was as much of a Guru as any of the others, but he had a problem with the clain of command, and didn't know how to follow the rules. Even good dogs that bite get put to sleep.
|
I never thought of him as a troll, he was more like "wise grouch". He was more brutally honest than anything else.
He shouldn't be unbanned, though, because rules are rules, and he chooses not to follow them. I don't think he cares all that much, though, or he would have changed his ways. |
Aye, the community as a whole has taught me a lot about administrating (coming from a text based background, this place has really helped me perfect a lot of necessary administrative skills) as well as opening a door to a fantastic group of people. For countless hours BYOND has facilitated my boring after work periods and I'm absoloutly fascinated with the program and it's capabilities - even after joining back in '01 under different key names, I'm continuously learing new things to do with DM and its complexities. BYOND really is a fantastic tool, and a place for meeting many different people from many different cultures and backgrounds - some very nice and some very strange! ;)
But when I step back and look at BYOND as a whole, I'm proud to be a part of it and enjoy helping wherever I can - I probably speak for the better half of the community when I say BYOND has done that little something special for each and every one of us. ~Sinyc. |
I got my typing skills from 5+ years of playing Runescape. I think BYOND taught me something but I dont know what, BUT BYOND is like my foundation to get my dream job/career which is game design. Thanks for helping me with my dream >.> It also really helps me relieve alot of stress.
