Jaredoggy is right, in small towns everyone will seem friendlier because there's less people. If you go to New York City, people can hit into you and just keep on walking. (Yes that happened to me the other week, I think that person was just weird.) The people aren't mean, how are you supposed to say hello to 13 million people? You can't do that.

Also you people generalize too much, There is no clean cut division between the North and South. There are way more divisons than that, such as the Southwest, Midwest, west coast, Northeast, etc. In the Midwest, they call what I call soda 'pop.' You would say "That's the North, Yankee!" No, that's the Midwest, it's just different phrases. The more clean cut division is between urban and rural lifestyle. I'm from New York, one of our baseball teams is called the Yankees, we're proud to be Yankees.

You have no point to prove. Sure, you can avoid using proper punctuation all you want, but there is no point to prove that makes it any more correct.

No, it was funny, not shallow.

As someone else said earlier, you can use a computer but you don't seem to be able to detect sarcasm. It was a joke.

Of course stereotypes are bad. Everyone can fall into a stereotyped group in one way or another. It upsets me when people assume I am weak or frail just because I am smart and good at computer programming and even overweight if they have not seen me yet.

Never heard that, but I did hear that in the north "Coke" is referred to as "Pop" and stuff like that.....

I went to Minnesota to visit family and i was buying some food and they said "you want a pop" or something and I was like wtf is pop?

Harder to tell wat is a joke and what isn't when you are just reading it.

Same here. I might call it 'Coke' sometimes, but I usually just say "Get me a drink while you're up, will ya?"
