What is the best virus scanner? I have Norton and Spy Sweeper and they both are not to good. I just did a recovery like last month because my computer was infected so bad by these viruses. Norton does not help at all. So right now I am asking what is the best virus scanner so then I can buy it to stop having to do any more recoveries. Thanks.

AVG has always worked for me.

Oh ya, it is free. http://free.grisoft.com/doc/1

Kaspersky AV is the best paid anti-virus you can get as for detections for spy-ware, viruses, and Trojans go.
http://www.kaspersky.com/ AVG is good if you’re not a heavy downloader, it does well for everyday virus (not the kind you get from P2P networks). But it will not detect much spy-ware or Trojans. AVG is equal or better then Norton and is free :). http://free.grisoft.com/ My favorite is ESET Nod32, good overall detections and very strong heuristics. http://www.nod32.com/ Also try MS anti-spyware if you use XP (it's free) it's good for Trojans and Spyware. |
