Finally, after all these years, I've figured out exactly how the Print Screen key on my keyboard works. It copies the screen, and has to be pasted elsewhere. XD For all these years I just assumed it wasn't used.
Also, with a certain combination, you can copy only the current application. =)

Press it, open an image editor and use the 'paste' function. Also it's alt+printscreen that only snaps the current application.

Yeah. I was like that. When I was little I assumed that I had to have something extra installed to enable it, and it would print directly to the printer.
Although back then there was no real need for it, the resolution was so low you could just draw your own screen shots. =P I didn't know about the Alt+PrtScn combo. Although I can't think of many uses for it. |

The alt+prtscrn combo is good for taking screenshots of programs you're making without having to cut out the other stuff on the screen.

But saving images straight into word processors is usually pretty inefficient, not to mention less portable.
