They really need the money after providing BYOND for free for so long
</sarcasm> They might need the money, but if they made BYOND open-source in the first place, it wouldn't be a problem because other servers might be used. See http://www.jabber.org for an example of what I mean by "other servers can be used" |

My question is, why do they use their own servers? Why not let everyone run servers if they want, in a similar fashion to how Jabber works? http://www.jabber.org

Why not use the forum search? |
Why should they make their hard work open source? I see open-sourcing as a double-edged sword. Sure, it breeds creativity and advancement but then again: GO get screwed, this is my work.
Go get your own. >:( But that's just me. -Thorg |
I expect slaughtering your family and then peeling off your fingernails would do that too. Be thankful I chose only to hijack. ;P
Sorry. -Thorg |
Why do you have your own house? Why do you keep your key password to yourself and not let other people post as you? Why do you keep your (hypothetical) kids safe from strangers and not let anybody walk up to them and do whatever they feel like doing? Why do you insist your employer(s) pay you for the fruits of your labor? Why do you sometimes do things for people for free just because you feel like it but other times you don't?
Why should anybody be expected to justify what they choose to do with the outcome of their struggles? |
Are you still going on about that open source crap.
Damn you don't know when to quit you're like an annoying little child that keeps saying the same thing to try to get his way. Well guess what that's not how it works. |
It hasn't been discussed how much information we plan on releasing to the public, so until that time you'll have to wait ;).

Nadrew, tell him straight. =P
