One of the Dantom staff needs to make a public announcement where everyone or close to everyone will see what the BYOND Members thing is about and what is being restricted. Perhaps that nifty BYOND Alert thing?
People are freaking out thinking that they will not be able to play BYOND or make any games if they don't pay by tomorrow.
STA on pager I've gotten a hundred times:

Heh, like I told them, it doesn't matter how many signatures that petition gets, because those in charge around here have this idea pretty much set-in-stone...
No matter how long that list gets, they're not going to change their minds over it... And should they? Absolutely not... The plan they've devised is an excellent one, regardless of what some "gimme gimme" kids are saying about it... And I'm sure they know that, and will stick to their guns on this one... So, I can keep signing it, adding to their total, but it won't do them any good anyways... Of course, my words aren't doing any good, either, so it's pretty much a waste, but I like smacking the hornets' nest...lol | |

I was just about to post this. Pretty stupid, and the same thing happens to meh, wont' listen. Its just the f***in(feckin) pager! IF they wanted to they could have done alot of stuff such as : limiting how many games you can play a day, week, month; how long you cna play, how many hub entries you can have, or not be free at all. Wtf is these ppl's probs?

I already chewed out the idiot who sent this to me. P2P does not mean pay-to-play, it means point-to-point or peer-to-peer. And this is totally wrong; BYOND will remain free. Furthermore, an online petition could do absolutely nothing to change this; knowing the number of people whining about this situation wouldn't do a darn thing to affect it. Truly petitiononline is the last resort of the impotent weasel; it only has value in certain rare cases, and this sort of thing clearly isn't one of them.
Also, chain pages are one of the reasons the pager will now require membership to send pages--and one of the reasons that's not going to change no matter how many people have panic attacks. After that goes live, chain pages will pretty much go away. The twit who started this chain page, aside from having his facts and his approach all wrong, made himself and all the fools who passed it along part of the problem. I don't know. :P I was signing it to try to counter the misperceptions and mischaracterizations... but after seeing somebody saying that BYOND should pay "us" for making the games that make BYOND great, I'm giving up. These people are unreachable. If they all do leave BYOND like they say they are... I'll breathe a huge sigh of relief.

Heh. I just don't see what they are complaining about, there are few if any places out there that are similar to byond. Byond provides the stuff for you to make games, in which YOU can make a profit from, and you don't even have to give some of it to Byond. Most of those people talking are most likely players, rather than developers anyways.

I was reading over the bad one again, and it becomes painfully obvious that most of them are so badly informed that they're a lost cause... All the more reason for this whole thing to be laid out in front of them in plain English (well, it's already pretty plain to us, but it apparently isn't plain enough for most...lol) And it also really needs to be displayed on the Games page, rather than mostly over on this side, as most of the players (especially the ones whining) never visit here... In fact, a even BETTER solution would be for an automated message to go out over the Pager whenever they sign on... | |

The pager will have to be paid for. But ppl with membership can intiate pager conversations and you can reply.
