I was reading through the replys and laughed at alot of this stuff about females should or shouldn't be drafted.
First of all, they are supposed to be equal. They can vote, they can own guys, they can do everything anyone else can, so why shouldn't they be drafted? Yeh right, equality, when it suits them. Secondly, have you ever even seen some of these ladies on TV? I want these strong man competitions on TV all the time, and the strong woman competitions. Both men and chicks are freaking hauling plans, with chains they wrap around their waists! Yes, naturally, I agee, females are weaker then humans, thats nature. But when your drafted, or even go to boot camp, you are put through both mental and physcal training. At the end of the day, Id like to think females equal up to males. Now on to the females being able to be more totured then males. Untrue, there are lots of ways to toture both sexes. And if you think sexual toture dosent apply to men you are insane. News flash, men and women could both be sexually abused... Why I just read in this magazine that was covered in dust in our employee lounge the other day that a group of young men where molested anally with broom sticks by a older team of boys while at Football Camp... I guess they call this razing or something. So stop giving females excuses, the fact is, both sexs can be hurts, in almost endless ways, and we both have the ability to be strong or weak. If they want to be equal, they should start acting like they are. |

Yeah...that incident with the broomsticks occurred in my town >.> and it wasn't razing, it was hazing. We had to listen to a whole lecture over this in school

All I can say is that this would be a very harmful tactic to bush's popular vote, with elections so close.
I doubt there's any truth behind it, especially with the statements such as "college will no longer be an option" and "all men and all women". Such a thing would never pass if it was ever proposed, so even if this is or was ever truthful, I still wouldn't have any worries about it. ~Ken~ |

From what I have read, the Bush campaign directly funded Swiftboat and a Bush attorney resigned because of his close involvement.
Regardless, both should openly condemn 3rd party attack ads as well. |

Lying about what? All the documentation indicates Kerry's awards were legit and several Swiftboat spokesmen have since recounted their accounts and most weren't present/involved in events they claim to have first hand knowledge of. It's just more of the same smear that have infested politics for a while. See also Bush's attacks on McCaine during the 2000 primaries.

You made the right call! I would much rather spend the evening dancing with a fine woman than watching two rich guys dodge questions about their fitness to lead!

We talked about this uhh about 2 months or more ago...It was proven most likely to die out , anyway. It's a pretty much dead topic...

<SARCASM>That's right! Because all people are snowflakes! And because of the mathematical impossibilities of genetics, no one person can have ANY qualities even remotely similar to another person, take skin for instance. I'm the only human with skin.</SARCASM>

His medals were legit? When he got injured in a noncombative zone! When he was hardly required to leave the base he was stationed at? How do you manage three purple hearts under those conditions?

I fail to see how your post had any relevance to Theodis' argument. (Which, strangely, I agree with; it's strange because I disagree with him about a lot of things. =P )

I merely stated that I disagree with his earlier statement that everyone (note it was in bold) is unique. I don't even believe in that hippie "Everyone is a snowflake" crap. As a matter of fact, I don't even buy into the "No two snowflakes are ever alike" crap either. Roll the dice enough times, I garuntee you will come out with the same result eventually.

I merely stated that I disagree with his earlier statement that everyone (note it was in bold) is unique. Though people may share traits no people are completely alike and thus unique. Even identical twins develop their own opinions, beliefs, and tastes. To think otherwise is just ridiculous. I also noted that generalizations are by definition generally right or they wouldn't be generalizations. But they don't dictate who or what an individual is and what they are capable of. To say a woman isn't allowed to do something because most women aren't capable is just silly. Should programming be disallowed because most people aren't capable of programming? Should we determine based on gender and race what a person is most likely going to do and just force them to conform to the average ignoring individual talent? |

Are these documented facts or just allegations? Look, I am not saying Kerry didn't recieve special considerations (given his wealthy background, I am sure he did!), I am just saying there is, as of now, exactly 0 credible evidence that brings his medals into question. All the military and research documentation indicates that Kerry legitimately recieved them. It seems alot like the CBS Bush Air National Guard thing except for some reason a few Bush supporters continue to cling to it.
Be sure to check http://www.factcheck.org/article.aspx@docID=231.html for facts on this whole thing before you let spinmeisters decide things for you. |

Okay, I am getting a little fed up with this "women aren't good soldiers" line. Many militaries have historically used females to great effect. The advantages an average male has over an average female are miniscule compared to their similarities when wielding weaponry. Even primitive societies soon learned a blade cuts a male just as easily as a female and a female with a spear is just as dangerous as a male.
Fast forward 2000 years. Firearms and other modern weapons are even less strength sensitive than early weaponry. While some females may not be used to the same activities as males, a little training goes a long way. Israel is a prime example. They have a fully integrated military that is regarded as one of the finest in the world. It amazes me the ignorance that is found in gender issues. For over a million years, men and women performed largely the same tasks as hunter gatherers. For maybe a few thousand, we have divided them. Where the feudal/agrarian model is almost completely gone, more egalitarian roles return. Not biology but society. |

No. Bush actually condemned the Swift Boat ads. Saying that Bush is behind those is like saying that Republicans are pushing for a draft. Just propaganda.
I would like to see Kerry openly condemn Fahrenheit 911 though. Rather, it seems Michael Moore is just becoming a more prominent figure to the Democrats. |

Please read http://www.factcheck.org/article.aspx@docID=231.html . The donors for SwiftBoat were Texas Republicans, including those closely tied with George Bush. Bush *eventually* condemened third-party attack ads (don't know if he ever got to specifically decrying Swift, though). Regardless, campaigns should not indulge in such smear attacks IMHO. I would like to see Kerry openly condemn Fahrenheit 911 though. Rather, it seems Michael Moore is just becoming a more prominent figure to the Democrats. I don't know that Fahrenheit 9/11 was ever proven knowingly false. Indeed, large portions are sadly true. So even if I do not like the presentation, I would not condemn it. However, I do think Kerry and the Dems should have openly condemned the forging of documents related to Bush's ANG record. That kind of behavior is slimey and IIRC the Dems were pretty silent even after CBS retracted the info. |

there are differences between sexes but theyre equalised in different areas your right about modern weaponry, a woman is actually better at aiming a gun just not as good at carrying it compared with males and these are average statistics not my opinion so dont call me sexist lol

in terms of genetics there is 12 trillion possibilities for who you are, more than the number of humans that have existed but that doesnt mean we cant be the same most of our skills are trained during life not altered by genetics theyre just the best you can be most people reach a tiny percentage of their potential we have no way of knowing if men can be better than women but we can train them to be equal its how you are treated as a child that decides if your male or female in behaviour for example because parents punish or ignore behaviour they dont see as right for that gender we end up with steriotyped roles but nothings stopping us training people to be equal because theres little chance of people ever reaching their full potential
