Well I'm a big fan of FF series and have been waiting for 11 for a long long time. I would just like to point out its due date to those who didn't know. Ohh and for any who would like to check FFXI out just race over too http://www.ffxionline.com I go there all the time and it holds the web page address for the offical FFXI website.
I would really like to know if any byonders are planning on getting the game. Then I wount feel lonely in the game.

I got it for PC a long time ago, and play it...well, not that much compaired to most i know. My friend is dying for tomarrow to come, he has it reserved already, and is coming over to my house to hook it up though my RR cable connection(he has 56k) and we will play together because PC and PS2 will use the same servers, he is really happy about that.

It's not all that great, they totally screwed the beta testers by deleting their characters the day the day the official PC release came out. And the game isn't even close to done. I'm not touching it again until it has more done.

Although it isnt close to done, it is already WAY better than any MMORPG I have ever seen in many, many key ways. And the fact that it isnt done allows players to look forward to updates and adins to the game. And most of them dont come in expantion packs like EQ does. I have been on the game a while and have seen many updates that change the game dramaticly, even if the update does minor things to the game. It shows that the game has a very strong economy and some of the best systems of fighting, crafting, and fishing i have seen in a game, ever.

That is the first time I've heard of incompleteness being a GOOD thing.

Anyway, i havent liked the FF series, and i probably never will. Just my opinion |

Well, FFXI isnt FF like in most aspects, about all that remains is the creatures and item names.

It would be best to just get it for the PC. For the PS2 version I believe you need to get something along the lines of a 40gb HD which is an extra 200 dollars plus the game, which is 240 dollars... and I thought 50 dollars for a game was expensive. Then there is also the PS2 broadband fee, since it requires broadband to play, and a registering fee, and I think it is like 1 dollar added to the account fee for each additional character you make. So your looking for a rather expensive buy that you could get for so much cheaper on just the PC, and for now I would rather stick to StarWars Galaxies as my P2P game.

No, it is $100 flat for both the game and hard drive, and it doesnt cost a broadband fee. About the only thing you got right is it is 1$ extra for every extra char you want. Yes, you do have to buy a modem, but it is both 56k and broadband.

I wanted too get it for the PC but.... My comps so slow I would be suprised if it could even play the music and sound with out skipping. Althought I am kinda nervous how fast the game will be running on a slow PS2 connection like a 56k modem. You know any info on how fast it is? |

It is timed action, really good system, simular to Everquest, if Everquest was 10 times better that is. You also get a Mog house, it is located were everyone elses it(you just kinda zone into it, and you are in your little 1 room house). You can store up to 50 items there and can get new furniture to allow for more items to be held. You dont actualy buy it though. If you go to another house, you get a temp house in that town for free, inventory is the same as your main house because you mog stores all your items in your old house.

They must have been a little off. My friend is getting it, and it sure didnt cost him 240 dollars. He already had the modem because he got it when he got EQ(and played it for 2 months, what a waist of 100 dollars, well, 50 of it was the modem, which is finialy going to get used). Now for people like me, PC is way better, mainly because our PCs are already setup for such a game, but some peoples only real choice is the ps2. Plus the hard drive removes the need for a memorycard for any game at all. And im waiting to see what typo of PS-OS come out now that there is a Hard drive. Byond for PS2, Woot.

I ment besides linux, and really, what linux distros would be created for the PS2. I have seen a few backyard OS made for consoles in the past, some of which looked promising, but none of which made it far.

Eagil, and im on the Server Diablose, but getting on a server takes time, mainly because it puts you on a random server. So you have to create, then delete, and repeat untill you get to the right server. The only other way is for me to buy a world pass for you, which i am going to be doing a lot of soon(a few friends are starting). It will cost me 1000gil, but i will do it if you want on the same server as me and my friend. Just tell me when you are joining.
