What mp3 player would you guys suggest with a good amount of memory and $100 - $200 and its Sony, because Sony has the best stuff, but if you think you found something just as good or better then Sony, you can tell me, and $100 - $200. Thanks.

I got a MP3 CD player. Basically it is a MP3 player, but instead of using memory sticks or built in memory, it uses CDs. It doesn't sound too special, but you can fit about 200 songs on one CD, and if you carry a CD wallet you can carry like 10 CDs.
They are bigger, but worth it. I couldn't stand having to interface with a computer every time I wanted to change CDs.

Dell sells some that have 15-20 gig storage, starting at about 250 dollars. You can store about 3000 songs on them so I don't think changing cd's often would be a problem.

That's pretty cool then. I got mine years ago so yeah. Although I would still prefere the CD stuff. Since it also plays normal CDs.

I still wonder how they manage to determine the number of songs you can store on... anything. Is every song secretly a fixed length, and we're only tricked into THINKING that some songs are shorter than others? Maybe certain songs distort space-time, making them seem shorter or longer.

IT BOGGLES THE MINED!

It goes by the average song length at the standard quality settings. I belive the average length is 4:30.

Dell says 3600 songs with an average length of 4 minutes at 128 bit quality, so I said 3000, because I like to use cd quality music.

My point exactly.

Same way they figure out how many bodies will fit in a trunk.

five if you cut them up...

eh, as for mp3 players,

most dvd players will play mp3 cds, that you burn on a regular cd from you computer,

My cds hold about 100 songs, also, for 50 bucks you can get a mp3 discman, handheld cd player thingy, and buy a cable to run to your stereo, or you can also buy a nice long cable that runs from the computer to the stereo..

Don't be fooled into thinking you need to buy an mp3 stereo with sticks or harddrives, you can get a really nice mp3 system going for less than 100$

i think its worth going without a remote for, but its up to you and what you want:D I say use the extra money to buy some nice speakers:D
[edit: that is, unless u go for the dvd player route, which you do get a remote, and for about twice as much as a discman:D]

They go up to 40 gigs now:

And there's the new mini-iPod, 1,000 songs, the size of a credit card:

I have a Creative Nomad with a 256M MuVo USB flash card, it plays great, and doesn't need any new software/hardware installed to use. It cost me about $120.
