David Blaine is the ultimate street magician. Mainly, because his life/ family's life depended on him performing in the street. He's been doing it all his life! He's done many amzing things. Not magic on many of them, but cool none the less. Such as:

Staying on a tower with aprox. 1' radius, with only a 2" handle for when the wind blew. He did this for voer 24 hours.

He's starved himself many times for amazing periods of time.

He's frozen his entire body in a huge block of ice for 6+ hours.

My one question is, how does he float! He goes up to random people on the street, and just floats! It's weird!

I have seen David Blaine do that, it is called the 'baccudi trick' or somthing like that.

Thanks for the sites any way

David blaine actually edited the tapes with his levitation. But david used one levitation that can be learnt online. I forgot what site. But heres how you do it:

the audience stands at a 45 degree angle behind you. abit back. You lift your left foot up abit, don't bend your knees. Then you lift the back of your right foot so the back is level - aligned with the back of the left foot. from the view of the audience it seems as you float. This trick is extremely angle sensitive. Get the wrong angle and you're screwed. I'll post the site that teaches this levitation for free.

By the way. David was in river thames, england. He was suspended in a pexiglass box above the crowd for 44-days with just water and no food. All he had was a sleeping bag.

He wasn't "in the river Thames". He was quite a few metres away from it's banks AND suspended above the ground. People keep on saying he was either above, or in the river thames. That's not true, he was only NEAR it.

Also, a small correction for Airjoe, it was 36 hours on the pole, but close enough!

Heh, the Thames is the river that runs through London, England... So he was actually in London, near the river...

And I hear that he was getting a lot of hecklers during that little stunt... The English apparently don't like our American show-off-ness...lol

The river Thames is just that... a river. =)

That levitation illusion sounds pretty nifty. Hard to do, though!

They pelted his box with eggs, Cursed at him, Made stupid signs, Tried to cut his water supply, And even had a helicopter hover over the box, with a hamburger attached to a cord which was above his box. My friend lives in essex. He got to go there when the stunt started and he got some pictures. Here they are: MVD: David - Man In A Box Pictures were takin' by Nick Feild. And oh yes, I'm "Casey" on the forums. ;]

You said that the English don't like your American show-off-ness. I disagree, I am English and visited David Blain frequently, I think he is the man! Only a few lame people decided that what he was doing was somehow insulting christ !?! I laugh at them! Some of us, however, were VERY supportive, two of our ladies even flashed him some flesh :P

A bit off topic, but here's some news:

Tenacious D (Jack Black's Band) is now hovering over NYC outside TRL studios. They are trying to go for 45 days! They are wearing weird costumes, and have only water. No sleeping bag. Lets wait and see!
