Alright, i know this has been mentioned before but it might not have been the same thing. After about 6 months my X-Box broke down, when you try to open the CD Tray the green light flashes once, then twice, then 3 times, then red and green.
I have two ideas, either a chip has been fried on the main motherboard or the laser sensor that detects if the CD tray is closed has somehow been broken. If anyone else has been having these problems and has overcome them or just has an idea please either page me or post it here. Or e-mail me at [email protected]

The X-Box company is charging $140.00 - $150.00 CAN. just to look at it. Then another 100 to fix it. Please contact me if you know anything.

Thanks for any input, The Conjuror.
Buy a British Xbox :D I've had mine for 9 months and it works like new. My friend has had his for 1 1/2 years and it works new too. :)

Im sure Microsoft, (a non-british company) wouldnt have created a bug in all systems except for the british ones. And i wasnt asking for how good your system has been to you for a long time, i was asking for advice to overcome my situation. As far your advice of buying a british one, i already said i don't want to buy another one.

Well, if its gonna cost 250 for microsoft to fix it, you might as well buy a new one. I dont have an xbox, I bought a gamecube, I got it used, had it for 8 months, and it still runs like new(even though I didnt get it new). Only gripe I have with it is about 1/3 of the time you try and load a game it thinks the memory card is damaged, so you gotta turn it off, take the card out, put the card back in, turn it back on, hope you didnt just lose every save file you have.

Doesn't happen to mine.

Thats probably why it was secondhand :)

Never happened to my GameCube... Anyway Im pretty sure the Nintendo lifetime warrenty works on GameCube products. Just send it back and get them to fix it.
Sorry about the crash. Sending it in would not make much sense, since you can now purchase a brand new Xbox for $149, with a couple of games thrown in.

They showed up at that price two days ago at the FYI music store near my work in Arlington VA. I'm sure it will be a standard price soon enough.
