but I really thought it was BYOND that had the viruses...
If you get a virus from somewhere and you open byond, its most likely going to tell you that it has a virus. Some other file you got probably had it in it.

It's a program working in the background, but it's not visible on the list. Please, do you really think I havn't tried that?

Only thing that matters is that it's on byond and always will. Think about how many games people made then quit Byond. I don't know any one but there games are still on it. People will keep playing your games and thats what you made them for. It's not like all your games are going to be gone since your mom deleted them. Even though it would make me mad, I will still think about the games I made even if they are finished or not.

Hmm, well, on my last [recent] full-system scan, about 13 of the 395 infected files weren't repairable. Norton is pretty nice about repairing the files automaticly, or at least placing them in a secure area where they are not free to infect other files.

-as for a .dmb or .rsc file getting infected. Highly unlikely. Two common types of files to carry/execute viruses are .exe files and .doc files. Eh, I think DOC file viruses infect macros, but I'm a tad shady around the subject. Anyhow, a BYOND program could call to execute an external .exe file, which may in turn be a backdoor virus or otherwise.

In my contact with viruses, I have one word of advice to anyone who happens to encounter one; DON'T FREAK OUT!

I have yet to discover a virus that formats your C: drive or makes your CPU explode, so stop worrying! Generally, viruses are easily removed, or at the most a pain-in-the-neck to deal with. Yea, sure, there are some viruses that are dangerous, but generally the most-circulated ones are like gnats; annoying and,... well, maybe they're like mosquitoes instead; annoying and potentially harmful. ^_^

SO! *Never ever* delete a jillion files unless everything has gone wrong. Get a good virus scanner, *update your virus definitions*, and do an occaisonal full-system scan if you feel something's fishy with your system.

There was one BYOND virus that formatted your harddrive, the PEEBAG virus...in the DBZ games there are always P-Bags....and these group of people made one that had a clear disclamer, and people still punched the PEEBAGS, the fools....
