I thought they invented CDs to provide a method of storing files that would normally require a whole stack of floppy discs?

Yeah, well 600 megs would take quite a few floppy disks. :)

403, actually. You can't store any data on 0.68 of a floppy disk. (Not if you want it to be readable by the computer, anyway!)
