isn't that where you hook up your gba advance with the cartridge in it and play it on your screen? I don't see why you'd want to play a larger version of gameboy games.

No, no... it's a device that's going to be released soon. Here's some information I've gathered from IGN.com

"November 18, 2002 - Earlier this morning in Japan Nintendo officially announced the Game Boy Player, a peripheral that, when attached to the bottom of a GameCube console, enables gamers to play Game Boy, Game Boy Color and Game Boy Advance games on a television screen.
The peripheral opens up a library of some 1,400 handheld titles (in Japan as of March 03, 2002) to GameCube owners, according to Nintendo.

The device enables these titles to be played through a GameCube controller on the big screen without the need of a GBA unit. However, using a Game Boy Advance cable, gamers can additionally connect a GBA and use it as a controller to play the software. The cable can likewise be utilized for multiplayer games and data trading so that, for instance, if one player doesn't have a GBA but another does, they can still trade data back and forth between the handheld and the Game Boy Player.

Nintendo has also revealed what seems to be their vision for the product, apart from just allowing you to avoid wasting batteries. "Beginning at the end of this year and continuing on through Spring of next year, Game Boy Advance will see many quality RPG releases such as Pokemon Ruby & Saphire and The Legend of Zelda," comments the company. "This product allows for a new play style where players raise characters at home on their television screen and outside the home use the portable machine to communicate and battle with friends."

"For several years, the video game industry has been pushing forward to new technical frontiers?while at the same time celebrating classic hit games of the past," said Peter MacDougall, executive vice president, sales and marketing, Nintendo of America, in a follow-up statement today. "This new Game Boy Player actually fulfills both desires: it instantly makes your current favorite Game Boy Advance game larger-than-life, and at the same time allows you to see your favorite portable title from a decade ago in an entirely new way."

The GameCube unit will power the Game Boy Player, according to Nintendo. The device will be made available in four different colors in line with the current hues of GameCube in Japan."

Ive had my Ps2 for about 2 years or so aswell, Its still in perfect condition, they dont really "break" as quick as people think, most people just dont clean them and remove dust and such so then it stops working, my friend said his ps2 was broken so I cleaned it, sucked the dust out and it works fine.

I agree, too bad they arn't making a whole lot of multiplayer online games though, they only have Phantasy Star online, which while a good game can cost allot if you include the internet thing to buy, the keyboard, the game, and the monthly subscription.

One of my friends has went threw two Play Station 2’s in the past 4 months. The door to put the CD in starts acting up after a month or so.. He's starting to get frustrated, though.

Can't beat that logic!
Perhaps you're just overusing it.

And I've never had any problems with GameCube.

Indeed, the XBOX I particularly LOVE to hate...besides being nothing more then a computer, its controllers are the size of the original Nintendo...I HATE large controllers, I like the PS2's and PSX the most...for the controllers are just the right size I think.

Every console is a computer nowadays, they just make their own parts.

its controllers are the size of the original Nintendo.

A argument that has no affect in this age. They stopped making those controllers and made the S controller which is allot better, and I never had a problem with the original controller

I like the PS2's and PSX the most...for the controllers are just the right size I think.

they are too small if your playing a fps game, my fingers get cramped in the anolog sticks that are too close. They're made for a younger audience who have smaller hands.

The controllers for the NES are rather small (122mm by 52mm by 17mm). Playstation controllers are bigger than that (very rough estimate: 150mm by 90mm by 20mm).

I may be part of a majority here but I liked the size of the original Xbox controller. It was just the perfect fit.

I don't think the size of it matter that much. I think the shape and placement of buttons are much more important. The Sega Genesis had kind of large controllers, but they were ok. The Nintendo 64 was just plain bad. I've never played Xbox or Gamecube.

I liked the N64 controller. It formed to your hands perfectly, unless you had unusually large hands..

I never liked holding the center part with my left hand, it felt more comfortable to hold it on the very left and stretch to reach the joystick. the Z button was awkwardly placed, at least for the way I hold the controller. And the C buttons are too small.

They're yet to make a better controller than the ones for Intellivision.
