Ever since I got my PS2 It said disc read error occasionally on compact discs but rarely. It hasn't been even a year and it's fully acting up. I had Vice City the first day it came out and it was working fine. 3 months later I had to turn the radio off or the PS2 would say: Error: Reading Grand Theft Auto: Vice City DVD. I stayed with my cousins for Christmas break and when I got home I wanted to play Vice City but here came Mr. Disc Read Error. Sony knew that it would happen so you would send it in to them to fix it for $125 dollars. They want us to pay for their mistakes/ sinister ways? I want everyone to reply to this, tell me if Xbox or Gamecube has the same problems because I might get one of those and send that insignificant piece of garbage flying out the window into the trash can. If you are a newbie and you're wating to get a PS2 for your birthday, I beg you to reconsider and don't waste your mommy's paycheck. F**k Sony to hell. I read many mssg. boards over the internet on how to disable the case and fix it. I know how but I haven't tried yet but I'm trying tonight People have had the same problem as me. It read the old discs but not anymore. Maybe becasue I diddn't have the PS2 vertical always like I should and teh dust got in there. well anyway I urge you not to associate sony and fill their greasy pockets with cash. Read tutorials on how to fix your PS2. Those lens cleaners diddn't work for me. And I haven't tried to change the voltage yet? Anyone got any other suggestions? Well anyway Sony, go straight to hell you cross-eyed bastards!

My PS2 works fine, and so does my brothers. I'm still down with Sony, but get a GameCube, I've got one of those and it works fine.

Well, my ps2 does that occasionally but its working now. My bro has a gamecube and its great except for the controllers are a piece of [doody]. He doesnt play it much and 2 out of the 3 controllers he has have [messed] up joysticks.

scotch tape.. yes, scotch tape..
1. get a 3mm thick or so piece of scotch tape 2. lay your PS2 disk label side up on a table or something 3. put the tape down to the surface or the table or whatever 4. Slide the tape to the inside edge of the disc, then fold the rest of it over onto the top... it's a odd, and crude fix, but it worked fine for me... |

I have had a GameCube for over a year, no problems. The controllers are very comfortable though, just that the D-Pad is very oddly placed. I'm also a long time Nintendo fasn since the NES came out. If I get a system it must be a Nintendo system.

From the controller being absoulutely uncomfortable controller to it having to be about 500x500 feet wide. My warning to anyone: Nintendo is the best, Sony is second, Microsoft is, and always will be, last. |

Agreed on the d-pad placement, it makes mk5 really difficult to play. Its the best controller out in my opinion.

Actually the controller was a bit uncomfortable as you said. not something I'd want to use for 3 hours, same with PS2, But besides that, I saw nothing wrong with it. What are the flaws that Xbox has? |

After church, or during it, we'd sneak out and play street fighter and donkey kong on his arcade machine. We'd ask our moms for quarters after church and go play again. ahh, good memories. *wipes tear* |
