Is there anything good left on BYOND? I basically gave up on BYOND a while back because it was beginning to bore me. Now I come back and it seems much much worse. I have seen maybe 2 or 3 good games on BYOND in the past month, yet neither was hosted long enough to enjoy. Right now I see nothing on the hub but a game to transfer files (which you can do on instant messangers and e-mail), games made by newbies (which of course aren't too good since they are made by beginners),and DragonBall Z games. The only good DBZ game though is Zeta, which got boring as hell since it was ripped, not to mention the remade versions weren't much different.
What i'm trying to get to is this:
Is there anyone out there who is actually planning to come up with something actually enjoyable for BYOND anytime soon?

So very true. I came to B.Y.O.N.D hoping for a little fun, but I didn't expect them to take the "little" part so seriously. The only amusing part of B.Y.O.N.D is the stupid little comflicts between people on forums. So I too, basically gave up on BYOND gaming.

i have a game in progress called Project newhope battles, offecal name: Days of past. It plays much like Ultima Online. But it has some suddle diffrences, but it wont be hosted much till sat. when i get cable. The image you provided is on your computer. The rest of us can't see it unless we have BR.jpg in our C:\WINDOWS\Desktop\JamPack\ directory. If you want other people to see it, upload it onto a server and make the image address point there.

i know it doesnt do much, but i added a little thing on it, the address is the same, it wont be up but for about another 30 min. Ill by away for most of that time.

my new war/action/competition/strategy game. SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALS. Yes it is a 2d version of the real one. Im still working on it but the alpha version should be out soon. Beta wont be a problem.

Wow, both you and Ceriberal Assasin sound like very well rounded, optimistic people. It's a good thing you are both here to complain about BYOND while offering no solutions to the problem you have brought up. It's also a tribute to your character that because the games don't satisfy you anymore (or never have) that you stick around the BYOND forums to savor the conflicts between others. Perhaps instead of complaining about the quality of the games on BYOND, you should make one yourself that suites your tastes. If you don't want to make your own game, then help others who need ideas, or post an idea for your dream game in the hopes that a B YOND coder will see it and say "Hey, that's sounds cool. I think I'll try making something like that." | |
And these guys forget about decent games, like My Life as a Spy, LivingDead, Morte, Fenris's Apocolypse, Dragon Warrior Online, Rockrunner, The Trinity Star, Fourtris, Baccahnal, Shapeshifter, Bunniflip, Chess, and of course HedgerowHall...just to name a few.
No....your're right, there are no good games on BYOND...(dripping sarcasm) I must concur with previous statements: instead of complaining - make your own game! That is the purpose of the BYOND system to begin with. | |
