Um, who's mocking? I'm participating in a conversation about buying katanas. I bought my first katana (actually, it's a set of katana, wakizashi, and tanto with an attractive holder) because they matched my living room furntiure, being black with gold trim. I also have numberous other swords, including a few other katana, that have trickled in over the years as gifts from friends.
All in all, though, I have to agree with Spuzzum. I've learned how to use my swords mostly for fun, and would never use them to harm another person. My roommate believes that the way to avoid getting into a fight is to carry a very visible weapon with you everywhere you go. This philosophy has gotten her into 20+ serious fights in her life, yet she won't recognize how deeply flawed it is. I only carry pepper spray, and have never had to use it. Common sense will help you avoid all but the most truly random acts of violence, and trying to avoid those is like trying to avoid a sudden lightning strike or aneurysm. If it happens, it happens. | |
uhh pepper spray....Me and my friends decided to scare the sh** out of my friend punkrock546...well we were acting like we were gonna spry him when i accidenlt sprayed him..then my messed up friend sprayed himself in the face..LOL

Full body armor combined with exercise and constant physical training, swordsmanship, tactical training, survival training, anatomy, and medical training...
All these combined would make superior soldiers, far superior to the current soldiers this very day that rely on pathetic projectile weapons.
With todays materials we can create light-weight and durable swords and protective gear.
Overall it would also cost less.
With the amount of money going into the military, and seeing what most soldiers wear its a wonder where the money is going. they should be fully protected, but yet they have simple camouflage jackets, pants, simple footwear, backpacks, rifles, survival knives, and helmets that couldnt stop a needle flicked at them.
