The LoTR:FoTR DVD that was released Tuesday?
Please tell me that was it... If not, you must go buy it... |
Dear (whatever diety you prefer)...
That's blasphemous... You'll hang for that little comment... lol |
I totally agree, LOTR was horrible compared to the movies Aliens and Predator! Why I would never buy the LOTR dvd(Really I don't have any money currently, I dished out all I had for the new Predator DVD set and the entire Aliens movie series.).

Have you people even read the books? Honestly... They're arguably the best and most popular pieces of fantasy literature ever written (well, unless you count the Bible...lol)...
The story is a totally awesome epic struggle of good (or rather, innocence) vs evil... The world Tolkein created was so rich and full of detail that you're completely immersed in Middle Earth from the first page through the last page... And the movie itself is quite arguably the best book to movie adaptation ever created... I suppose it doesn't mean much if you're not a fan of the books... But if you are, then the movie is completely spellbinding... It's just so darned perfect (or as close as can be done) and everything you've ever pictured while enjoying the books... (and since they filmed all three together, it is safe to assume the next two will be just as high quality as the first) Don't get me wrong...but Aliens and Predator are nothing compared to this work of art... Sure, they're all good films in their own right... But this one stands above and beyond them in multiple ways... But I guess to each his own... It's all a matter of what you like... And I happen to like LoTR a LOT more than most other movies ever made... And I'm definitely not alone in that... |
Raaa, away with you! I guess I can see your view, but then again Aliens and Predator never had enough to really get into them until now, unlike LOTR which had hundreds of old fan games, literature, and artworks everywhere, and has a newer movie with much more money and special effects put into it. I never really became a fan of Aliens or the Predator series until I discovered the game, which set me into the viewpoint of the characters, it gave me a great realization of the ideas in those movies. It took 1 thing to simply open my eyes entirely on the subject, now I'm a maniac about the entire deal. I guess the main reason I don't like LOTR because I don't like medieval stuff(I love stocky SMAUG codebase muds though.). Now I must be off to boo off all the newbies players on SpaceTug, I could not believe my eyes when I saw someone go, "This is like that movie, whats it's name?", I nearly busted a blood vessel, thank <place deity here> I have a little bit of self control.

Oh, you know the average avid gamer doesn't know what a Katana is.... If you want a cool weapon I suggest getting a wooden nighstick, not as deadly as the Katana(not like your planning on killing anyone, are you?) but it is much more painful. You can simply tap a bystander on the shins and it hurts like a mo. I still like Tantos and Bos(I currently have 5 tantos and 3 bos, one of my bos has a neat wooden wolf head on the top).
