Ha! Try playing it on 3 19" Color LCD Monitors (seemless edge-to-edge) with Dolby surround, and sitting on a nice cozy recliner. Oops, sorry, you can't. You're on the Xbox. :P

(Sorry, could not resist poking back! Boss at work just set this up for a client, and we had to try Falcon 4.0 with it. Sweet! Felt like you were in the cockpit! I doubt you could accomplish that with the Xbox... heck, don't even know if Morrrow-wind would work on that setup - would be neat to see though...)

Sounds cool. Certainly not your typical set-up. Point being that most with PCs couldn't do that either.

I certainly have nothing against PCs. I own two myself, and they get plenty of use. I just don't understand why people feel like they need to bash anything they don't own just to make themselves feel better about what they do.

You know what, Xbox is winning the console war. I bet you're laughing your head off at that FALSE statement. Sony is selling more consoles than Microsoft and Nintendo COMBINED. That's a pure fact. Next PSM magazine rocks. And even some Xbox fans think XBM sucks. In the words of my Xbox loving uncle, "The magazine bites a big one, but the cd's good." I think even Nintendo power gets more praise than that. And they are advertising 70 incredible titles. You do know there are more than 200 titles for PS2 most of which are incredible. And the PS1 has more than that! The average PS2 owner is 21. Xbox: around 16. You knwo what that means? It means PS2 is open to more mature (cool) games. It may not have the latest and greatest hardware, but does that matter? It seems to on Xbox. All I hear is "OH MY GOD LOOK AT THOSE GRAPHICS!!", while i'm saying, "oh my god, look at that piss poor animation. and gameplay." LEt's face it, you're better off with a PC, because that's all Xbox is. An unupdatable (not a word) PC.

I think it will become the norm in time - multiple monitors, I mean.

After showing off my home multi-monitor setup (used equipment that cost me less than $500 in garage sale hunting), I've started a trend with my flight-sim and FPS friends - even got one guy who is trying to write a special driver for getting CounterStrike to work with 4 monitors...

I believe it is far cheaper to expand your desktop with extra monitors than to buy a single bigger screen. My 200Mhz desktop runs a 17" in the center, and two 15"ers on either side - to me that is better than getting a 19-22" model - the games that support the multiple monitor setup (not too many yet, but enough simulators for me to be happy) make for a more enjoyable experience... plus, multiple monitors are a must in my work - I prefer lots of screen real estate for doing website design: one for coding, one for previewing, and one for email/IM and file exploring... and doesn't break the wallet either!

Agreed. You would think that such energies could be better transferred to making BYOND games than ranting nonsense in the forums...

I am sure Xbox will improve in time, just as the other console machines have. In fact, I am predicting that there will be a Linux-based console (aside from knowing that PS2 now has Linux for it) to compete against them all in the future - especially since companies like Mandrake have started to release Linux distros specifically geared towards game-play... I've seen MetalGear Solid on a Linux box - not bad at all...

This is just plain pissing me off. The reason Playstation 2 has more games anyways if because most of developers from Playstation 1 switched over to the second when it came out, along with the people from Nintendo 64 to Gamecube, thus leaving a brand new console that came out with no companies from any previous ones. The Xbox is made of computer parts, not low quality ones though, but what seperates that from a playstation 2? You can't update a playstation 2 neither. There's a whole bunch of really stupid games that have came out for the PS2. I don't see why your trying to go on about how much one console is better than another, and try to degrade others who prefer one more than another, which is very insulting. I know allot of people (around 15-20) saying to get the Xbox instead of playstation 2 because it's better. Oh, ya might want to fix the little errors in your post, just to let you know.

lol so your friend bends to your every will and demand? im sure you both have no lives because if he can just drop everything and come over...yeah i was referring to if your home and hes out doing something but i guess your 1 friend has no life and thats the only reason you are friends...sucks for you

If you must ask questions about friendship, you really must have had a bad childhood. I admit I only have about 5 friends, but that's mainly because I'm a hermit with a computer. People just piss me off, especially ones who just try to find a way to get one last laugh who also enjoy reading their own posts that try to degrade another one because it brings them self-satisfaction and distracts them from the true harsh reality type life they live. Well, I mainly get pissed off easily because I have had only half a can of root beer and root beer (besides a non caffienated sprite) to drink, so my caffeine level is low.

Here's what no one seems to get.

PS2 is GOOD for Xbox owners. Xbox is GOOD for the PS2 owners.

I am an Xbox owner, and I am very very glad there is a PS2 system out there. Everyone should be glad there is more than one system out there.

This is simple economics, folks. The competition is fierce, and competition means lower prices for systems, lower prices for games, more improvements faster, and better and better games.

Do you think either PS2 or Xbox would have dropped $100 if they didn't have another console to worry about? They would have been out of their minds to do so.

Microsoft and Sony are clammering for the next hot game. They pump millions of dollars into devolopers pockets who look like they may be the up and comer to make their console rise above the rest. And I say let them keep doing it!

In the end, we the consumers win. At the moment, Xbox is catching up with number of great games, and they'll edge out PS2, but only for a short while. Then PS3 will come out, and the pendulum will swing the other way. And each time I see it swing, I go "hot damn!... games are gonna kick some serious ass now!"

A friend of mine just got a new 75" Projector Screen running @ 1024x768 on his PC! We were playing IL2 Sturmovik and Warcraft III on it for a while and oh man...it was just...there are no words. GTA3 on PS2 looks utterly amazing as well!

He used to have a 100" one that ran at 648x480, but geez it doesn't even compare.
