It doesn't go there anymore instead it creates these little boxes everywhere with the minimize, maximize and close buttons showing...

Having Windows 98 never helped anybody at all.

But rebooting probably will work.

It helps if you move back to it from Windows ME.

It helps if you move back to it from Windows ME.

Or XP, or 2K, or NT.

You're kidding, right? '98 is the most unstable piece of garbage ever to come out of Microsoft. I know, because I have to use it at work, like everyone else. Any of the other three you listed contain miles of improvement.

I find NT to be much better in terms of stability than Win98; I haven't used 2000 enough to make a judgment, but I'm told it's even better than NT in that regard. ME has Win98's problems but more of them, and I've heard mixed reports (averaging to not-so-hot) about XP.

I like Win98 just fine--Win98SE, anyway. The moral lesson here is to never EVER install the first revision of a Microsoft OS, unless you're enough of a techie and have enough patience to deal with the inevitable Big Problems.

Yes. I've found Win98 alot worse than most other Windows systems, but Win98SE seems to run somewhat better than most of the others.
