How many people on the boards smoke ciggerattes? I do, but I wish I had never started. Oh and if she bothers anyone, I am sorry I was just curious.
I did when I was 7 and 13, but it is sooo easy to quit. Most people say it is really hard, but it's a cinch.

I tryed a ciggerate when I was 10 (my mom gave it to me) and I didn't like it, and I didn't like em before that, the only thing that looked fun was blowing the smoke out at the time of my age lol, but alchohol and ciggerates has put my mom through a tuff time and almost has took her life so I stay away from crap like that cause I have seen what it can really do and don't want to ever see or let it happen to anyone or me. If one of you are like thinking I am stupid cuase of this, you can think what ya want, but im sure ya would think the same thing if ya went through something like that.

Wrong. Its not entirely a cinch to quit smoking. I am neither a drinker nor smoker but I know these facts...

Smoking is not easy to quit when you have smoked for awhile. To quit it quickly you need a strong will to do so. My dad has a strong will, yet his girlfriend does not. My dad quit smoking after around 20+ years of smoking. Yet, his girlfriend has tried many many times to quit and she can't because her will power is not that strong. She believes she can't quit.

Anyway, I don't drink nor do I smoke. Thats my life. If I don't wish to do either its my choice. :P

If someone wishes to drink/smoke then thats their choice. If they like it then they can carry on doing it, if they find out that they don't like it...They stop. Simple.

It doesn't take too long before your addicted, i smoked 2 years when i was 7 and I was addicted, Then i just decided to quit one day *poof* no problem. If you really try to quit, it's simple. I smoked weed when I was 14 (15 now) and I smoked it every night for 2 weeks straight. It was so easy to quit. You get addicted to that crap fast. I do agree it messes you up, I'm not currently addicted to anything but BYOND, video games, and women. ;)

Some people may be subject to various addictions, and some may not. Alcoholism, for example, may be something you are physically prone to or not.

The thing is, an alcoholic who can't quit isn't simply "weak-willed", they have things going on physically that make it extremely difficult to overcome. The amount of will they have to exert on a daily basis is vastly greater than what someone not prone to alcoholism does. While I, on the other hand, have to work to make myself remember to occasionally drink some of the Kahlua I really like that is sitting in anthropomorphic bottles in the kitchen.

The reason I bring this up is that the "it's easy to quit!" message can be counterproductive. If it's easy to quit, no harm in trying, right? But for someone predisposed to addiction, that may be the road to hell.

Sounds like a very good quote could be started from that:

"It's easier to quit if you never start."
