I was just playing Hog when a computer player got 905 points on a single turn! 125 rolls. And I was trouncing it soundly until then...

Wow. Assuming that it had the best roll possible, we're looking at:

Probability = (35/36)**125 = 3%

Lucky you didn't have "gambling mode" turned on!

Hmm. My theory is that the computer's been steadily draining my karma and has now chosen to manifest this. I base this on the fact that at least 30-40% of the times I get a 2 or 12, I bust on the very first roll.

If that's true, blame it on Dantom, not me. I use the same call to roll() whether it's a human or computer player.

Either that, or all computers are evil, having only the goal of upsetting and frustrating humans to no end. At least, this is what I believed when I got mad and kicked the crap out of the Coleco Vision when I was a kid. Later, the Nintendo suffered a similar fate. Thankfully, game consoles were much more durable back then - they don't make 'em like they used to!

thats nothing. when i was a little kid, i put a slice of pizza in the atari. it would not work so i rinsed it off.. then it worked.

my little brother put a sice of pizza in my playstation (upsidedown mind you.) so i remembered the atari and rinsed it off... it took me 6 hours to reverse the damage.

That example is why they have fireworks and explosives laws. =)
