I was just wondering what does it mean exactly to lock a splitter in a child? I'm toying around with it and it's really confusing me exactly what's going on.
Uh, I'd assume it means that the splitter - the thing that splits the two panes within the child - is locked. as in, it can't be dragged. Like it normally can.

That's just a guess.

well there's an option to not show the splitter when available which does just that: it doesn't allow you to move the splitter. That's why I'm confused as to what exactly locking it does. You can lock it to either the left/top pane of the child, or the right/bottom pane of the child.

From the skin reference:

"Allows one pane to "lock" the splitter so if the Child control is resized, the splitter will stay put on that side."
