I have host files for an old game I made years ago that I want to bring back but I don't have the source code. What I am wondering if there is any program or method of extracting the source files for the game using .rsc file in the hosting files.
I tried opening the file up in notepad but all I get is pages and pages of strange symbols and code. Is there a way I can make notepad convert that?

Like he said, it's impossible, the RSC is super-encrypted, and all you can get from is it icons, music, html, ect!

.rsc files only contain resource files, such as icons, sounds, anything that would be sent to a client. Hence the name.
The .dmb contains the actual executable code. It is POSSIBLE to extract source code from this using a decompiler, but there are very few people who have one and they don't like to share, on account of the fact that they get endlessly abused. Oh, and even if you decompiled the .dmb, it would be rather badly mangled. |
