complex control schemes

I am a new Byond member and am trying to make a game that uses a complex control system so that the user is not clicking on verbs (say, attack, magic etc.) all the time, or trying to type it in.
Where can I find something to help me with that.
Also, where can I purchase the blue book and the fine manual?

My advice in regards to having relatively complicated interfaces is to check out the tutorial on the skins. Between that and what BYOND did before skins, you've got pretty much all the control trappings of most PC games.

I'm not aware of anywhere you can purchase a manual or reference, but you can get PDFs for what you're mentioning right here. The manual gave my printer some good exercise. ;)
