"All the codes needed" would span more information than would actually be productive to ask someone to just 'describe'. At that point, you'd actually be better off seeking a coder to do the work for you - which is effectively what you're already asking. In that case, you're better off asking in the Classified Ads area.

Mapping and iconing are worthless skills. Which is utter nonsense and I wish you wouldn't bother posting things like this since you're insulting everyone who puts a lot of effort into the artistic aspects of their work. |

Plus, most noobs who come around often say their only skills are mapping and iconing, because they are the onces accessible to most people. With so many people saturating the market with those two skills, you could probably throw a brick and hit a random mapper or iconer. You are not in danger of not finding an icon maker, especially if you are willing to pay $$$. Quality is the only way to raise the value of mapping and iconing. And of the two skills, iconing is the more valuable. Mapping is often automated anyway by a coder, to increase replay value. |

You certainly can make a game without art, as is demonstrated by the existence of text based games.
But if your game is a game aspect that uses art assets, then they're just as important as the code. If your game is the kind of game that would use art, without those artists, all you have is useless code. And the fact is, while you can just throw random garbage together, it doesn't matter how cool or well coded your game engine is if it's a hideous abortion of mishmashed graphics. Artists work with coders, writers, musicians, and other staff to produce a finalized whole. Any lacking of any of the above subtracts from the value of the end product. Just because there's lots of people who claim to do something, doesn't mean they do it well. And that also doesn't mean that what they do is worthless. That's just a terrible attitude to have, and a poor way of presenting yourself not only to the general public, but to those future 'worthless' people you may need to find some time in the future. |
