Thanks for the help guys.
http://portforward.com certainly solved my problem :)
I'm fairly sure this isn't the right forum for this sort of post, but here's an answer, anyway.

http://portforward.com/

I've been to that site... :| It doesnt really make sense to me. But thanks, Ill keep trying with it.

This forum seems the most appropriate when you look at the available alternatives.

I don't know how better to explain it than PortForward. Go to the configuration page for your router, set a port forward with the port number you plan on hosting on and the local IP of the host machine, and you're fine. The only stumbling stone I can see is finding your router's configuration page, and that's listed on the manufacturer's website as well as the documentation that came with the router (and on PortForward.com).

What are you having trouble with, exactly? What have you tried?

Ah! Half the page didnt load right away. I sorted out the website and that...
And ive set up the ports like it says...
Except that hosting still fails... :\

Going via 127.0.0.1 works, of course. But connecting externally comes up with connection failed...

Portforward can be tricky to navigate if you don't know exactly what you're looking for...
This might be better explained in an instant message. try to message me on any messenger

I'll be waiting.
Unless I'm sleeping...
Or out of town...

Hopefully I'll be waiting.
I know how, I just need to know what damn port to forward.

You can host with any port you choose. If you choose a specific port, Dream Daemon or Dream Seeker will continue using it for hosting. Then you just forward that port. Likewise you'd want to also forward a port for your pager, which can also be set up to use a specific port.

OK I know this has nothing to do with the current topic but I had to reply to you directly, Lummox, cause you are the man.

It seems that people on here have great ideas that are close to what I want but I believe what I am asking goes against how BYOND is programmed to function. Could you please give my post a look?

Ok... So I've forwarded the ports for hosting, I've even done it for the pager on a seperate port.
Ive ALSO set the ports up in byond.txt in the cfg folder...
And still no one can join :(

I think the problem lies in my static IP address...
