Every time I save a .png with the mask color; it stays as grey when I import it into Dream Maker.
I've been having this problem for a while; and I want to keep size down on my latest project. Is there a way to save a png so I can import it into DM with transparency?

With PNG you have to use actual transparency, not just the mask color. Most image editing programs allow for real transparency when saving PNG images.

Are there any free; simple programs that allow for transparency when saving a PNG image?

Gimp maybe.

There're many free programs like that, just search for 'em.
If you can't be bothered to find and install one, might as well just use [temporary] BMPs, and convert those to DMIs (they'll still be converted otherwise anyway). |

This is off topic, but I have a suggestion to anyone having trouble with the size of PNG's. I know that they are probably the smallest and yet still have quality image you can use in BYOND but here is the name of a program that efficiently compresses a PNG without losing quality...

If it isn't in a .PNG format it won't work.
