I need advice on were to learn coding i've learnt a few things from the dm guide and some people have told me to learn coding from game sources but i don't understand much of that can anyone help me?
I'd recommend the tutorials over at BYONDscape , especially the ZBT tutorials, A Step BYOND, Your First World, and the My First Game tutorial. The DM Guide and the DM reference are also always excellent resources.

Please... never do that. It's better to use Zilal's guide, or if you're gonan learn to program using a source... for a last resort... use Sidewalk Santa's. Lol! (Nah, thats what I used when I first started.. kekekeke). But yeah... don't use source codes form existing games. Very bad.

The only sources you should be looking at would be the ones in DM Demos or DM Libraries. DM Libraries shouldn't be looked over as an information source until after you've already gained a fair amount of programming skill, however. Some demos I recommend(the first two I started with, and the two I always recommend to others) are:

Before reading those, however, I do recommend that you read the DM Guide in its entirety(do not just pick and choose topics, or quit early on!). The DM Reference is also a valuable information resource for learning of all of the specific functions and syntaxes for said functions.

If you care to actually learn to program, and not merely rip other games and claim to be some "1337 pr0gr4mm3r!" then at this time I would like to wish you luck, my friend. :)
